Insanely repetitive, I have no clue how I finished this game on PS4 when it was brand new. I'm honestly shocked how I pulled that off. I think I just forced myself to play it so I'd find out what becomes of Vito.
Onto Mafia III: Definitive Edition. I pre-ordered the definitive series pack on launch and everything, was hyped for the whole series being remastered but we all know how that went (Only reason I keep playing Mafia 2 Definitive is for Tommy and Lincoln's cars and clothes being added, rest of the game has been ruined a bit for no reason). Mafia 1 Definitive is insanely good though, please play.
Repetitive as ever, so damn boring, it's literally driving around the map blowing up boxes or shooting guys. I think they went for this strategy to make it more open world but man what a miss, if they made it another chapter-based game like Mafia 2 and 1 it might have actually been really good, and just give us a free roam mode.

The past Mafia games, were just that, mafia games. You felt like you were playing a really good mafia movie, everything was great
Tommy and Vito were great protagonists, hell even Joe and Jimmy were fun to play as in their respective DLCs
Here comes Lincoln Clay...
A mindless superhuman brute that destroys and kills everything in his path, he takes on whole mobs with nothing but an M60
and a needle in his arm. He can kill civilians with one punch. He's got a radio and a headset that can get him anything he needs,
guns, armor, ammo, cars, and a rolling money stash. His whole thing is getting "revenge" on those who killed his family but he
just ends up wanting to control the city cause he thinks he can do better but he just keeps the cycle of crime going but
it's better because he is in control or something. This guy feels nothing like a real life person in history or someone you'd see
on the street. Tommy and Vito felt like real people with flaws, interests, hobbies, a life. I don't think Lincoln likes anything besides
killing people, the guy just sits in his room itching to go out on another killing spree. He's also ex-special forces and his
best friend is a guy from the CIA, he's actually kind of a funny guy.
So yeah it's a Mafia game where you aren't in the Mafia, you are this special forces superhuman with an unquenchable thirst
for blood, and you drive around destroying specially marked boxes and stabbing people in the neck. Oh and don't forget
you have to divvy up areas of the map and you can choose 1 of 3 people to get it. Be equal or one of them will get really mad
and leave the group. Lincoln never tries to mediate or talk people down, he just says okay can I kill them now?
Wouldn't recommend it, but hey give it a try if you get the mafia trilogy on sale one day, see how long you can last before you get
bored.
2/5, and those 2 stars are for Vito.
