This game is honestly the biggest breath of fresh air I have had in a competitive FPS in a really long time. It's not easy to pin point why, the beautifully executed movement, destructable environments that can turn a match into chaos at the drop of a hat, the masterfully crafted utilities available to swing matches and give you and edge or provide your utter doom. Maybe even just the bangin soundtrack and overall sound design which is seriously on point. But pretty much The Finals is a great achievement in video games and really should not be overlooked.
Peopl say it is dying, definitely the signs are there, which is sad. If you come in here looking for the next COD or CS you won't find it here. If you play solely for your KD you're gonna leave dissapointed. This is a game about playing as a team and taking your team to a win through any means necessary and you can do that whether your final score is 23 kills or 0, I've seen it, and that, I think for me at least is what I absolutely love about it. I'm not a god tier player who can catch a headshot on the flick and dash out to kill the whole rest of the team. I am an average player at best, but I can win at this game because it's not about that. It's a sport that allows for and relies on a diverse range of play styles and I really feel like whoever you are and however you play you have the potential to get a win. Which is something that is hard to find in the genre and that is special.
So if you havent played, or are in doubt, don't listen to the hate hype. GIve it a go and show it some love.
I really feel like this game is a massive achievement and a move in the right direction for a bit of a shake up in the world of competitive shooters.
It'll only die if noone plays it..
