The robot’s eyes flickered. “Define ‘butter.’ Dairy-based, plant-based, or metaphorical? Do you mean butter as a physical object or as a concept of facilitation?”
The crowd chuckled as Dr. Mills sighed. “The butter on the table.”
TaskBot stared blankly. “Clarify: is the goal to pass butter itself or the experience of having butter passed? Human intentions are often ambiguous.”
“Fine,” Mills groaned. “Just bring me the butter.”
TaskBot nodded, walked over, grabbed the butter dish… and hurled it across the room like a fastball.
