Don't expect a long game with a super deep story or exploration, but you can expect an incredibly tense masterpiece of a boss fight gauntlet. The music perfectly captures the bosses' personalities, the voice acting for all three dubs (English, Japanese, and French) are excellent, Takashi Okazaki's character designs are wonderful, and the combat is exceptionally polished. I made this review seeing a few reviews call the combat heavily scripted, which I disagree with. Yes, bosses will have clearly defined move sets per phase, but it's possible to play a lot more aggressively than the bosses' telegraphing would imply, a lot of these options being deliberate. I recommend looking that the developer's speedrunning guide on their YouTube channel. This game is very much easy to learn but difficult to master. I would consider myself "good at the game" since I've gotten all achievements and being able to beat the game in an hour now, but speedrunners can beat the game in half the time I can. If you love games that are like an instrument in that learning to play and master it is a large part of the experience, then this is absolutely the game for you.
