essentially any game that has a campaign, space combat vs pirates, mining, trading, and may have crafting from a cockpit perspective.

but don't be limited to steam. GOG.com has lots of games like this.

Tom, did you ever find a game that was similar to GOF2? The question you asked way back was exactly what I was thinking so would be interested to know. Just got elite dangerous but slow. Liked GOF2 so much.
