Spoilers for Omori and Escaped Chasm-
So I thought it felt really familiar when I was Sunny's house for the first time and he was home alone and the house started getting all creepy, like, haven't I been here before?
And then I remembered. I've played Escaped Chasm.
I've heard that Yume Nikki is also pretty similar to EC. I'm probably going to start getting them all confused soon.
I do have a very distinct style of game that I find myself drawn to. I counted it all up and story-based pixel-style RPGs are legit half of the games on my laptop.
They're so good, though!!
This is Game Blog 4 and technically 5, reporting for duty!!
See, I got a bunch of time on OMORI and Needy Streamer Overload the other day, but then never got around to writing for it.
But I'm here now!
Spoilers for Omori and NSO.
I made it to the one really spooky forest and, after I made it though Daddy Longlegs' labyrinth, COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ TO DO.
I somehow missed the matchbox and couldn't light the candles to get to the railroad tracks, and I was honestly already super sick of time trials and puzzles after the whole "mewo turns into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SPIDER and chases me places" shenanigans, so I wound up going back and doing some side tasks (so glad that Mari's still alive at this point because i seriously forgot about half that stuff. )
I made my way around and as a part of the one sidequest with the mermaid (?) I needed to find a joke for my joke book, and for some reason I thought I had seen one at the Train Station. So I went there and figured out that I WAS MISSING OUT ON THE ENTIRETY OF ORANGE OASIS!!
so like 200 plays on dino dig later, with Hector Jr safely in Kel's pocket, I saved my game for that first day that I forgot to write about. Because I had played for a few hours and I gave myself a headache by looking at my computer too long lmfao.
Later, I actually got out Needy Streamer Overload! I think the aesthetics of that one is really intriguing. But I'm also scared for KAngel's life, so there's that.
I actually did get a full playthrough, which is crazy since I only spent 0.7 hours on it. You wanna know what I did to END MY GAME ON LITERALLY LIKE, THE 7TH DAY?! I BROUGHT THIS GIRL TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEN TOLD HER TO SLEEP, and I managed to get her stress level down to ZERO and she woke up the next day and made posts saying that she QUIT STREAMING!!!!! I think even though it was an abrupt end, it was still probably the best ending I'm going to get for that game. I know it's dark. That's why I bought it.
Aaanyways, today I played some more Omori. I really wanted to get something special for Peanut and Jelly from Dino Dig, but its proven to be a real struggle. However, I'm a frugal little ♥♥♥♥, so I really don't mind all the basically-free healing items. Like, it costs 100 clams to play, and I usually go for the plastic or wooden spoons, so I always make back what I spend on it. Absolute win no matter how you look at it!
I also looked at a few guides and reviews, and saw something about bread. I just so happened to check my skills and... BREAD SLICE. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty thrifty, so you better believe I ate that up. I have at least 30 slices of bread right now and I show no sign of stopping.
Today I also finally found that STUPID FREAKING MATCHBOX and got the minecart up and running, so I made it to Sweetheart's Castle. I got out of the dungeon, I think I hit all the sidequests in the castle? but now I can't get out because there's still the big crowd at the door. Also, in the dungeon I still have one heart left to press and I can't figure out how to get to it!! HELP ME PLEASE!!
Sigh. I'll come back at it again with a fresh pair of eyes soon.
Nobody gets to be entirely stress-free,
