It's an OK shooter. Decent dungeons. Nice graphics, except for the constant texture pop. Vehicle handling is a joke. Get it if it's on sale and you like this sort of thing.

Solid Tomb Raider game mechanics let down by overuse of cutscenes and QTEs. Visually beautiful. Plays well. More good than bad.

I was blown away by Human Revolution and poured far too many hours into it (on a non-Steam version) than is healthy. I was a bit wary of this latest outing bearing in mind the user reviews it's got but thankfully I found Mankind Divided to be every bit as much fun as its predecessor. It really doesn't deserve the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's received.

It has all the deep, rich gameplay options we've come to expect from Deus Ex and adds some fun new augs too. I had a lot of fun with Remote Hacking and Icarus Dash. Being able to craft your own biocells and multitools also gives you a lot more freedom.

Not being a big fan of boss battles, I was glad that there was only one and that it's possible to finish it in a variety of ways, both lethal and non-lethal.

Although the quality of the graphics is way ahead of HR, it doesn't quite have the same level of visual panache. The neo-renaissance stylings have given way to a more sombre aesthetic that nonetheless still gets the job done. The music, however, is every bit as lush and gorgeous as that of Human Resistance.

There is more than enough here in terms of missions, both main and side, to keep you busy for a good while though. I've just finished my first run and clocked up 55 hours doing it, though I'm one of those people who likes to crawl into every vent and hack every computer I can find. Pretty sure I missed a few though. If you pay attention you might discover a surprise cameo from Farida Malik...

If you like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, chances are you'll also enjoy Mankind Divided.

I just wanted to put a word in for how beautifully the Serious Engine works on my rather crappy computer. Gorgeous, realistic environments, stunningly rendered and smooth as butter. A win for Croteam.

Keeping the Source Engine hip since 2006. Get it or be square.

Not completely terrible. Won't give you cancer. Moderately entertaining. Free.

Verdict: mostly harmless.
