Destiny, in both of its respective installments, has often left me with a sense of being hollow. I essentially dropped the first one after finishing the main campaign and only visit this one anymore at the request of my friends who are damn near obsessed with it. I've only gotten both off of their recommendation. To get it out of the way I do adore this game on a very superficial level. The aesthetic elements from the sounds, armor, worlds, technology, and everything in between is on point and (at least on the level and gun side of things) have been clearly painstakingly crafted to offer a varied and distinct audible and visual element to everywhere you go. While all of this is very pleasing to the eyes in ears, especially in congruence with the oh so familiar prospect of watching numbers go up for that sweet serotonin boost, the gameplay unfortunately fails the stylistic elements of this franchise. The spectacle will only get you so far when you want to convince me to grind for hours upon hours and play the same damn campaign for merely a chance at getting the weapon I played it for in the first place. Destiny distilled to its fundamental aspects (not including the PVP) goes about how one would expect the picture next to "looter shooter" in the dictionary would. You kill several weaker things to get to one large thing with a whole lot of health in order to get more weapons and items only to go and repeat the same process whenever you'd like to expand your already ever-growing collection of loot. There is depth and variety to be found but as stated earlier very little of it offers any difference outside of the superficial element. No matter if you get a "god roll" or spend whatever currency to upgrade whatever item you will always be able to kill the enemies you were already able to in relation to your power level. Free games often get free passes from me in the way of micro-transaction type cosmetic items so in this review I will not critique that aspect. However what I will critique with utmost fervor is the gall to ask for the same amount of money as a triple-A game every time they release a new expansion. Often this will be defended by saying that the game is free to play so it doesn't matter as much as well as quoting the content offered within the expansion. On the first note I wouldn't wholeheartedly disagree with this defense if it wasn't for the price and the frequency you'd have to pay it in order to keep up with what's new in the game. While there is plenty of content in the main game to enjoy long-time fans will have and investment in seeing any new additions but a significant portion of them are being delayed or completely prevented from experiencing this new content by having a pay wall air-dropped in front of their very eyes with each new release. On the second point I find it a very useful tool to judge value based off of what you'd expect from whatever you are paying applied to different scenarios. For instance why pay $60 on a Destiny 2 expansion onto the main game when first of all the game itself is free along with several other appealing options including but not limited to, Fortnite, Halo Infinite, Rocket League, as well as many other games that are rich in both content and gameplay. Second of all if I am to pay $60 I am expecting a game of similar if not greater value than one would find in a whole game like Halo, Red Dead, Far Cry 5, Just Cause 4, and many many other games that are worth that much (yet you can often get for less). In all honesty it'd be hard to tell you this game, beneath the surface, has anything more to offer you than stunning visuals and gameplay that will entertain the primate side of our brains for long enough to usually at least warrant a double digit playtime. Destiny is more so a time sink than a game. It works fine for just wanting to pass the time while you left click and look at the pretty scenery and ride around on your speeder bike but I wouldn't expect anything really beyond that. If you ask me it's better to by a complete game like Minecraft for $30 or Undertale for $10. Hell I'll even say just get the Master Chief Collection and skip this game all together. I'll even be "that guy" and say just download Fortnite for free and see what you think if for no other reason than you won't have to pay in order to experience full updates. Who knows? You may find something a bit more worthwhile in your search for literally anything more valuable or engaging than this embarrassment of a "triple-A" game.

On its surface this game is a very run of the mill "run and gun" type of game. The first few levels are deceptively easy as the player comes to find themselves equipped with unlimited ammo for their main attack and enemies that are killed with one hit. However this slowly but surely reveals itself to be a misdirection to get you over the learning curve of finding out the game's control scheme. Pretty soon you will be greeted with a rather hefty variety of enemy types and level layouts with new mechanics being introduced with somewhat spread out, yet well paced, regularity. This game offers a really solid and easy to learn gameplay loop on top of a truly hilarious campaign with constant pop culture and political humor shown throughout. Not to mention the downright impressive variety in the roster available to you by the time you get around to the end of the game and even after that with each character playing very distinctly from one another. I'd go as far as to say this game is absolutely worth checking out.

If you were to ask me point blank whether or not I recommend you play this game I'd honestly be a little stuck. On one end it is very satisfying to watch the meaningless numbers go up for potentially hours on end as well as finding all the pop culture references that you can bring yourself to give enough of a ♥♥♥♥ about. However on the other end it is a thoroughly boring experience that is highlighted almost exclusively by the serotonin boost you get from watching values grow exponentially. It's a fine "game" to clear your head while listening to music or what have you but honestly I think your time would be better spent elsewhere on something like Minecraft, Stardew Valley, or even Power Washing Simulator if you truly yearn for mindless and simple tasks to occupy your time with. I'd say it's more-so suited for the mobile-gaming market with how blatant the pay-to-win aspects are and honestly I think that's where it ought to stay. As a way to deteriorate your brain a little bit to numb the pain of sitting through the wait queue of a popular restaurant.

So far all I can say in terms of improvement is please add some kind of co-op feature.
Seeing the cabinet next to mine in the arcade made me hopeful to be able to play with my friends who also had VR headsets but alas it could not be.
Please. Please add co-op.

As someone who has played plenty of super hot and super hot vr on playstation I'm very happy to say this was my first pc exposure to a super hot game and sure enough it was a wonderful experience. When you have a formula as inviting as super hot just give us more and we'll be happy but of course you'd also have to bring new ideas to the table which Mind Control Delete does in spades. From having several weapons you can lodge in the wall to the selectable upgrades this is truly a worthy successor to the game we've known for all these years to be the king in blood rushing, intoxicating, balls to the walls fps.

On a mere surface level if someone on the outside looked in and saw Garry's mod they would say it's a busted up buggy piece of garbage that looks like it was built from the ground up with molding clay and colored in by amateur airbrush artists and to be honest they'd be completely correct. For some indeterminable reason gmod struggles to run even basic things such as loading a map or my menu even though I have a decently beastly computer. (granted I have almost 2000 mods for this game but that's not what we're here to talk about) Garry's mod without mods is worth your time if you are simply looking for a game to ♥♥♥♥ around for a few hours with and then put down only to revisit it for nostalgia's sake. Garry's mod with mods however is probably the ultimate way to experience video games on a budget. When I was younger I loved video games. I always have really but the problem lies in the fact I wasn't the one paying for my library back then and even so my computer could hardly run microsoft word at the time. BOOM I get introduce to Garry's mod. All of the sudden for $10 dollars I can be Bat-Man or play Fnaf or TTT or make scenarios from Star Wars. Me and my buddies could set up sudo CSGO matches. Even in later years where I bought my own games still came back to gmod to play whatever mods the community had cooked up. I have played mario kart, undertale, sniper elite, halo, minecraft, fortnite, gta and just about any other game you could think of in the form of mods for this video game. At the end of the day is it a good game on it's own? Not really. If you suck it up and see what the community has to offer and get some damn mods (which is the whole point) you will be greeted by one of the most fun and variety-filled gaming experiences of all time.
