If you're a fan of 4x grand strategy, or hell, any sci fi games, this is by far one of the best out there - the base game and mods surrounding it alone are astronomical - everything from a simple UI change to complete and utter overhauls that change the gameplay immensely. The vast amount of choices this game gives you is astronomical with how you govern an interstellar civilisation - and mods further expanding and improving on the game's diplomacy - New AI personalities for example adds a more diverse caste of empire opinions - from carefree hippies to total nutcases as opposed to a handful of bog standard empire types. It would take far too long to explain every tiny detail of this game - the DLC by far are certainly worth it, however the game length varies wildly - depending on what victory you are going for. I have to reccomend this, and suggest you get it with all the story DLC's and Utopia - they provide a much more interesting mid and late game. Good game, buy it.
