Played through this on PS5 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it's been so long since I played the original that it's hard for me to make a full comparison.

Make games, don't play them.

One of the best horror games ever made, but it has some serious issues on certain modern PC builds. But it's easy to work around. If you have the invisible door glitch near the beginning of the game (ie: The door right after you pick up the plasma cutter opens just fine but you can't actually walk through it, as if the door never actually opened) do the following:

1.) Google search and download "Direct3D Overrider"(aka "D3DOverrider").

2.) After installing it, start it up and Turn on its "Force triple buffering" and "Force VSync" settings (Maybe also try setting "Application detection level" to "High"). Your GFX card may have these settings but don't bother setting them there, set them in this app instead. Doing it via a GFX card's settings is hit or miss.

3.) Keep D3DOverrider open and start up Dead Space. Keep D3DOverrider open the entire time you are playing.
