No More Room in Hell is one of the best cooperative zombie survival games out there. The best part is that its free.

Based off of the Source Engine, No More Room in Hell will basically run on anything. I have mantained 60 FPS on a laptop not even meant for gaming, with the only thing I had to turn off being Anti Aliasing.

Though the game is not that graphically stunning, its gameplay makes up for that.

You and up to 7 other players have to either survive or complete a number of objectives. You will either hold a position as the shamblers make their slow approach to your temporary 'fort' or you will navigate through streets full of the walking, rotting corpses, deciding whether to blast your way through (the stupid way) or strafe around the slow ones and only waste bullets on the faster ones (the smart way).

Melee takes getting used to, but ultimately becomes incredibly satisfying, as you hold off small hordes with weapons such as a fire axe. You can charge up your swings for maximum damage or slash quickly instead.

Firearms aren't necessarily rare, but ammunition is. This game will teach you to not waste your bullets and to take your time aiming before you shoot. One wasted bullet could have taken out one or even more zombies. Guns like the Mac-10 and the MP5 have quite a kick to them and are both fully automatic, resulting in heavy ammo consumption. Not really ideal for a game focused on conserving your bullets and being accurate.

Overall, No More Room in Hell is the ideal, free, cooperative zombie survival game.

Oh, it also has a survival map that is an exact replica of the house from Night of the Living Dead (1968). THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU, BARBARA.
