After 20 hours and one playthrough, I can say that "Silent Hill 2" will probably be my Game of the Year 2024.

I never played the old game and therefore got to know the world of SH for the first time with this remake. The original SH2 is considered a masterpiece in the horror genre and as far as I can tell, Bloober Team has brought it into the modern era just as masterfully. Not since "Bioshock: Infinite" has there been a game that has kept me thinking for as long after the credits have rolled as "Silent Hill 2" and inspired me to come up with my own interpretations of the story.

Anyone who can relate to the genre should definitely play SH2 and show publishers that this type of single-player experience is still relevant and popular.

Edit December 2024: It ended up in third place on my GOTY list for this year :)
