I've been playing CRPGs since the 80's. If you're a DnD fan or enjoy turn-based combat, then this game will be right up your alley. Even many folks who are not really into turn-based games have enjoyed this game. It's about as true to tabletop as a game can get. Large class and sub-class selection. Engaging story. A huge selection of creative options in combat. Multiple ways to complete a quest. Consequences from choices (good or bad) that span the entire game. The world just feels alive.
