lots of people dogging on the ubisoft launcher (eh, who cares, you log in once and it just works) and the subscription model (fair), but the game itself is tons of fun and the community is awesome.

buggy as ♥♥♥♥ (especially late game) but absolutely genius storytelling and very insightful themes. i'd recommend playing the ps4 version if you have the means.

I'm gonna write an actual review since I'm seeing some misinformation regarding other clients.

Tetra Online is not trying to be a competitor to games like jstris or tetr.io. This game has fixed handling, no garbage blocking, line clear delay, no combo, and no multiplier. You cannot change the handling settings. This is an intentional design choice, not a flaw. Balance is currently a hot topic in the community, and fixed handling/line clear delay is the easiest way to limit speed. This isn't to say that this game isn't fast - because the handling is definitely fast - but the fixed handling and line clear delay is for game balance. I'm not going to get in to the balance discussion, but just know that the handling is not changeable, and it won't ever be.

Tetra Online is supposed to be a slow tetris game. However, it sure doesn't feel like that. The slippery handling feels mismatched with the mechanics like delays/no blocking that are staples of slow games like PPT. If the handling changes and the game slows down, this game will be a lot better.
