I thought I'd add this above what I typed before. If you have a Huge Potato PC/Laptop, this will run, but it'll only be a blank window. No really. I tried this with an old Acer Aspire 4730z Laptop, and an older Dell Laptop. also, the Linux version will not run on 32-bit Linux Distros. So if you have a Potato PC, running a 32 Bit Windows, You're gonna have to get a DLL file, from the Internet, which is named "opengl32.dll" to fix the Blank (White) window on the Windows version. For Linux distros, you're all outta luck. The requirement is a 64-bit Linux Distro, so far as I know.

I've been trying this for a while, and I haven't made a full game nor demo with it yet, but I might eventually, and I have to say it's a step up from VX ACE, but....

Let's just say that it uses similar features like VX ACE, but with an invisible third layer in map editing so now you can have a tree on top of another tree, and vice versa. So I'm going to be a bit blunt with this one because I really don't see much charm in it except for a few things. Time to get started.

First thing is the added support for Mac and phones, RPG Maker MV is also the first RPG Maker in KADOKAWA's line to have a Mac version, though it's only available on the Steam Platform. I don't have a Mac, but I would like to try it out on a Mac one day. So now Mac users can use the software too.

RPG Maker MV had ditched Ruby scripting and had replaced it with Javascript. This also made the game a bit bigger than the other RPG Makersm which is actually kind of neat. All of the Assets are different, but uses them the same way as RPG Maker VX ACE, which makes it a slight upgrade. The Character Generator, one of the few things I like about MV, is actually pretty good. However the Kid Generator doesn't have any parts, but one to make a little girl in a dress, unless you buy the Season Pass, which actually is quite the downer that KADOKAWA stooped that low.

Unlike the Other RPG Makers, RPG Maker MV can utilize certain tools, which are separate purchases for RPG Maker MV. You''ll have to buy GENE, MADO, and SAKAN separately as DLC. You don't actually need these tools, but they could help.

Like RPG Maker VX ACE, there is a lot of DLC, which in my opinion I find a bit overpriced. However, you have this special Sci Fi Modern Looking Tileset, so there's not need to look for another one.

Some Generator Parts are in the form of DLC, which includes Kid Generator Parts from the Season Pass, and a couple of Generator Parts packs that have a Edo Japan theme. However, DLC aside, there's also some extras in the core RPG Maker MV, such as a bit of RPG Maker 2000 BGMs, some more sounds and BGM for RPG Maker MV that isn't from a previous RPG Maker, but may have been shown in some videos in RPG Maker Web's Youtube Channel., as well as some plugins and other Resources. That is kind of nice of them to provide that much. They also have some extra data in the root folder, in case you hated the limited presets that are in each project you start.

All in all, RPG Maker MV has a bit of potential, but needs more love in the program, and not spread it with DLC all of the time. It's not bad, but not great either. It's pretty much so-so. I'll review this again once I get a game released and stuff, so far I've just been goofing off with it.
