The future of this game may be shorter than expected.


As you may be able to tell from my 1500+ hours in the game, I do really enjoy Rocket League. However the news that has recently been brought up about Epic buying Rocket League really kills a lot of the motivation and hope I had for this game. They didn't care what we thought, they're not answering our questions, and they certainly don't seem to care about their player base's feelings regarding the matter.

What's going to happen to the workshop maps? This is a huge question that is being brought up and afaik there are no answers yet. As they've said we will be able to continue PLAYING via Steam (if you've owned the steam copy before the transition), I highly doubt they will be using any steam features. This means I doubt we will be able to make in game purchases or use the workshop.

I just genuinely can't believe what they have done for a little more money, Epic may give an extra 18% of revenue, but you also get a horrible record of data leaks, scandals, and all around a horrible record on your back. As well as a feature-less launcher. I really hope they see what they've done and at least answer some questions.

Pros:
- If you like a grind, this game is for you
- You can get every item in the game for only about $10 if you grind enough, simply buy the Rocket pass and profit by playing a lot. You get a key every 10 levels ande decryptors on top of that.
- Cross platform! I love that I can queue up with people, no matter what device they play on.

Cons:
- Horrible, toxic community
- Slightly PG/M words are censored in party chat, but not in global chats? This one is bizzare to me
- Somehow they re-introduce bugs into the game with updates. Audio/gameplay bugs they have patched in the past, still make it into full releases for some reason.
