There actually is SOME amount of fun if you play co-op or with the AI allies modded away, and with a fan patch to fix the worst of the bugs. You still have to get through the completely awful first episode weapons and enemies, but once you get to Greece the combat is decent and it's only the confusing as hell level design that will impede your progress.

So if you want to play it out of morbid curiosity, know that it's at least bearable once you get out of the swamp.
