I've just finished the game. Let me sum up my impressions:

+ The game has truly astounding visuals. Every single place during the game is scenic, every single angle is worth a screenhot. It really blows your mind that such graphics and atmosphere can be achieved with the "aged" Source engine.

+ The soundtrack is incredible. It fits the mood and the narrative like a glove. It's neither too weak nor overwhelming.

+ All the sounds in the game are carefully designed and they enhance the atmosphere greatly, especially the wind sounds.

+ The story, when coupled with multiple playthroughs and perspectives and impressions of other players, prove to be actually very deep.

+ All in all, this game has an incredible atmosphere and a spooky mood.

- The story, by itself, is very, very vague. You need to play multiple times and check other players' ideas and impressions to get the whole picture.

- The walking speed is agonizingly slow. I know this is a game mechanic but in some places it could really be faster. At least we have the console code to increase the walking speed.

In summary, I can recommend this game ONLY IF:
*You are aware that this is actually a visual-novel, and not really a game. There is absolutely no interaction of any kind.
*You are aware that you need to play multiple times and check the forums to understand the story better.
*You aware that this is, as some others call it, "a walking simulator."

I don't remember how much I paid for this game, but I think for 5 bucks or less, it's worth it. If you have a few hours to spare, this might be a good choice.

A fun little game to pass the game. I'm a teacher and I was looking for a game which would keep me entertained during the recesses. This game is awesome for such short gaming bursts.

In short, you try to destroy the opponent's castle or capture their flag. You have different kinds of projectiles that you shoot with the ballista mounted on your castle gate, and you have different kinds of soldiers, including infantry, cavalry, siege units and monsters. You can either go for destroying the opposing castle room by room (the game has a very good physics engine, so if you somehow manage to destroy the basement of a castle, all of it comes tumbling down), or you can upgrade your soldiers and go for capturing the flag. There are two steps to capturing the flag, first you must break the castle gates, then you must escort the flag bearer to your castle.

You can design your castle in any way you can. You have only two limits while designing you castle; spatial limits and a limit of 5 different barracks at most. Other than that, you can create your castle however you want. If you don't feel like it, there are also ready castles that you can use, but I think they are inferior to what you can achieve yourself if you personalize your castle.

I've encountered no bugs or glitches throughout my gameplay. The loading times were also very short.

There is almost no voice-over (just some generic sounds used many times) but the game never feels like it lacks it. The music also fits the game like a glove. It can be epic, funny or brooding depending on the mood of the moment.

The graphics are very cute and also hugely appropriate for a game of this kind. They are very, very reminiscent of Warcraft III, which I liked a lot. This game clearly proves that the most important thing in a game is gameplay, not the graphics.

Don't expect miracles from the story. It's mediocre, and at times it really feels like it was written keeping children in mind. However, it at least manages to make you feel curious about what will happen next. The game also ends in a somewhat cliffhanger, so expect a sequel.

The only criticism I can make is not about the gameplay but the story:

You beat the Rogue Knight, Sir Brutus, and he pledges to serve you, but where does he or his army go? You just continue using the Barbarians' army-set like it never happened.

Also, all throughout the story, it was hinted very, very clearly that Lord Rufus is a traitor and Sir Brutus is actually working with him. What happened to Lord Rufus and Friar Vic when we were separated because of the cave-in? What happened on the other side of the mountain while we were fighting in the Barbarian lands?

And what about the ending? What was the monster that we saw at the end? The developers could have at least described where it came from and why it appeared just after Ramhorn's death. And the ending roll says peace ruled the land but (as I've said in the previous paragraph) what happened with Lord Rufus, the traitor? These are not answered and I must say, it really bothered me.

Other than these reservations, I think this is a very good game and it definitely deserves your money. Recommended.

Easily one of the best shooters I've ever played. This is coming from a 28 years old gamer who has been at it since 13 years old. For me, a good shooter must have two things; good gameplay mechanics and a captivating story. This game has it both.

The gameplay mechanic is incredible. The action is very fluid and you get used to the mechanics very easily. There are three ways you can play this game (each of which is backed up by specific perk trees): Stealth, Tactical, Berzerker. Stealth is the best choice if you're a completionist as it helps you find all the collectibles. Tactical is for people who likes delivering headshots and using different guns for different situations. Berzerker is for people who like indiscriminate slaughter. You get to use all heavy weapons without the speed penalty if you choose this line. By the way, when I say "choose" I'm not talking about a permanent choice. You can unlock every perk in all three perk trees as long as you do the required action, like killing five people by throwing knives or taking out 50 people in stealth.

There are many guns and each gun has a specific upgrade and/or different ammo types to keep things interesting. Shotgun's scatter shot ammo is especially fun to use.

The game uses checkpoint system but it's never annoying. The distance between checkpoints is just about right.

The story and the atmosphere is absolutely mind-blowing. I've never seen so much drama in a game for a very long time. This is game which makes you cry, sick, happy, and angry. It's like an emotional roller coaster. You glimpse the absolute worst of the war many times, and there are are truly stomach-churning scenes, which might really affect you if you're squeamish. There are also funny scenes, especially with your friends inside the Kreisau Circle. There are happy moments shared between B.J. and Anya. I've never been moved by a game's story this much since Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect 3.

The game also has a lot of replayability because there are two timelines in the game (which start with a choice you make in the first chapter). These timelines differ slightly in terms of story and gameplay. Also, there are many collectible items and one of those collectibles (Enigma Codes) unlocks additional game modes, further increasing the gameplay time. I would definitely play this game again if I didn't have so many games in my backlog. If you aim for 100% completion, the game would probably take you 20+ hours to complete. It took me 14 hours to complete a single playthrough on "I am Death Incarnate!" difficulty with about 70% of the collectibles and upgrades collected.

All in all, this is sincerely one of the best games you can play on Steam. An absolute masterpiece.

This is a game where you HAVE TO:

- Watch the same "first encounter" animations over and over and over and over if you die and come back to the same creature again.

- Watch the same dialogues over and over and over and over if you die and come back to the same area again.

- Do the same things you just did over and over and over and over because the game uses a very spare checkpoint system.

- Watch the same "fatality" videos (which are very cool and funny at first) over and over and over for 101 times, until you get sick of them.

- Watch the ending credits, which is VERY long, until the very end.

The game starts as a very colorful and different type of platform game, and for the first few hours it's very fun and even addicting. But after a while, the spare checkpoints start to infuriate you as you die countless times in some of the places. Make no mistake, this game is HARD. It starts to get boring and the game feels like a chore. If it wasn't for my OCD for unfinished games, I'd have stopped playing this at about 50th or 60th creature. After that limit, the game gets very bland very fast.

There are some neat ideas though. "The Island" is a very fun addition to the game. It helps keep things interesting and fun for a while. The creatures are really funny and most of dialogue is above average in terms of creativity (there are some old, boring jokes and memes though).

Overall, I'd recommend this game only if you have a lot of patience and an insatiable hunger for platform games. Otherwise, stay away from this game for the sake of your sanity.

A fun game where you defend your farm against raging zombie cows and hippies.

+ The gameplay is fun, the different ammo types requires you to adapt your game style
+ The game is quite short (this is a pro for me)
+ The visuals are good enough for a game of this kind

- The gameplay gets a little repetitive towards the end. You get to see eveything the game offers in he first few missions.
- There is no checkpoint system, so you turn back to the beginning of the mission at the smallest mistake.

I'd recommend this game to those who want to do fill their short free time periods.

A different type of tower defence. The difference is that you are trying to defend a tower from hordes of workers with the help of your miracles and calamities.

+ Cute visuals
+ Nice soundtrack
+ The levels don't take too long, making it suitable for short bursts of playing

- It gets repetitive after the 10th mission mark; there isn't much variety
- The last few levels are really difficult
- Some glitches like mouse freezing, game crashing, etc.

Overall, I'd recommend this game only if you're looking for a short game to play in limited free time. Not bad, but don't expect Anomaly Warzone level of entertaintment.

A good hack & slash game with minor RPG features.

+You get to see some other characters from the Marvel Universe (like Cable).

+/- The story is not very captivating but, seriously, who expects a Deadpool game to have a thought-provoking plot?
+/- The gameplay is fun, but it starts to get a little repetitive towards the end.

- The finalboss battle is very lazily-designed.

All in all, I'd give it 7/chimicangas

This piece of manure doesn't work. You can't even complete the tutorial mission because your soldier refuses to plant a mine, which is a mission objective.
I don't think I'd be able to play the game even if I managed to pass the tutorial, because the community forum for this game is full of reports of game-breaking bugs.
You'd like to pass the buggy missions with cheats? That's cute. Even the debug mode doesn't work (which should normally let you open the console and enter cheats).
Stay the hell away from this game. Stay away from it even if you got it for free. I requested a refund but Steam refused it (because I bought it a long time ago)

My recommendation for you is buying this game when it's heavily discounted, and then finish it by using a walkthrough in your Steam Browser (I used this excellent guide: https://joen1blog.wordpress.com/2012/07/06/1953-kgb-unleashed-walkthrough/). I'm saying this because the puzzles are way, way too hard for a casual gamer or a gamer who doesn't usually play these kind of games (like me). By using a walkthrough, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere and the story to the full extent without beating myself over the puzzles.

The atmosphere is terrific. You can feel the desolation, desperation and hopelessness in the claustophobic environments. The graphics are nice, the sound effects are superb, and the soundtrack fits the game like a glove.

The story is very intriguing, and it has a very big potential but the lackluster (though the word lackluster is a massive understatement here) ending ruins the gravity of the setting. It feels like they had to rush the game at the 90% mark.

Do I recommend this game? Yes, but only if you're willing to play it like I did. If you're going to solve the puzzles yourself, don't bother with buying this game.

A deliciously excellent game! Extremely addicting and lots of fun.

It's worth its price just to serve a customer with a bowl of water with raw vegetables in it, (in other words, serving a soup without cooking it at all) and watch them as they storm out swearing.
