A TIMELESS CLASSIC
Probably the most appropriate game for the Christmas holidays. Very excited about the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country!

I don't want to offend this brand, but Iveco is the worst European truck, even worse than Renault.
It's nice that they added a new truck for diversity, but in real life they are really not cool.
Scania, Volvo, DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz are real classics and quality, but Iveco and Renault have always been more budget and unattractive.
Waiting for the new Volvo and Mercedes!

Καλησπέρα
Here comes the day when we can travel to beautiful Greece, its unique islands and experience this cheerful vibe. Greek landscapes, mountain roads, coastal villages make you feel lucky to see it. It's a country with a very rich history and a diversity of nature and culture.

Greece holds a special place in my heart, it's a country where we often go on vacation with our family, and when traveling IRL through countries from Road to the Black Sea and West Balkans DLC, we always end up coming to sunny Greece, which I fell in love with many years ago when I visited it for the first time.

In the previous DLC review I hoped that we would get Greece in exactly one year, well it came out in 1 year and a 1 month.

Now a little bit of my thoughts about the future of the game:

Map expansions for ETS 2 started to come out less often than once a year. And some of them, like the most aggressive country in the world, were canceled. While in ATS we get 2-3 states every year. Now we will hope that Nordic Horizons will come out the same way in a year and nothing will slow down its development.

But the most interesting thing is what DLC will be after it, because every year the situation in the world (especially in Europe) changes and it unfortunately affects the release of the next DLCs as well.

I think it would be reasonable to make the next DLC Türkiye, at least its western part, because Istanbul alone is not enough. Especially some Greek islands are literally borders Turkey. This country has a huge share in the cargo transportation market: European, Middle Eastern, Asian. It would be cool to see other major cities and beautiful landscapes of Turkey, at least its western Mediterranean part, which is still more connected to Europe. It would be logical to include Cyprus here too, since its territory is too small to do it separately.

As for Ukraine, it is not known when it will appear in the game as DLC, because of the fact that Russian terrorists shell its cities every day, it actually makes it difficult to appear in the game. Developers won't even be able to go to this country for a research trip, it's not safe and many details will be hard to photograph, there is a war going on in the country. And Russia may never appear in the game again, because of its aggression not only to Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, but in general for all of Europe and the world. For the same reason we will not see Belarus. And without Ukraine there will be no Moldova (although it is so small that it could be added as a free update for the Romania).

Ireland remains and there is a popular theory that it will be added in the future DLC with the UK rework, but this is just a theory that is not confirmed. Iceland is also not worth waiting for itself, it would be more logical to include it in Nordic Horizons. So enjoy it in ProMods, as well as many of the above countries, which are unlikely to appear in the near future.

Personally for me the future of ETS2 is uncertain, and I have no idea what countries the developers will do next, not counting the reworks of the remaining old territories. We will observe, enjoy what we have, as well as cool mods like ProMods and others.

There is no such thing as a game being isolated from politics, everything that happens in real life affects all aspects of life, and entertainment is no exception.
I wish the war and all the geopolitical nonsense would end soon and for us to just travel and enjoy the road, because that's what we bought this game for. Bon voyage everyone!

Happy upcoming Christmas and New Year to everyone, see you in 2025 and we'll see what it brings for us both in life and in games. In the meantime, we'll be exploring the completely reworked Germany, the event in Greece, and upcoming Christmas events on European and American roads!

Thank you SCS for a quality job

INTRODUCTION
My introduction to Steam was over 10 years ago in 2014 and the GTA Collection (III, VC, SA, IV/EFLC) were some of my very first licensed games here ♡

I absolutely love every part of Grand Theft Auto, there is no one that I love more or less, but specifically GTA IV I'll never be able to forget. It is a very complex and adult story, the darkest of all the games of this franchise. Even more serious than in GTA III (hello Liberty City 2001 version from the 2008).
From the very first mission the game gives inexpressible feelings, emotions are off the charts. I replayed the story after 10 years and enjoyed it immensely, I'm not even afraid to say that this game saved my soul. SHIt happens that you are in a very difficult moral state and replaying this game was able to help me a little bit to cope with this sh*t.

ATMOSPHERE, MUSIC & AMBIENCE
ONE OF THE BEST OPEN WORLDS IN VIDEOGAMES!
I won't talk about the story, this game is 16 YEARS OLD!!! and everyone is very familiar with it. I'll just say that this dystopian atmosphere of New York, which is called Liberty City here, is where it gets better for me. It's one of my favorite cities in real life, I adore its history, aesthetics, diversity, I'm in love with it to the point of madness and it's in this setting that I feel awesome.
Liberty City from the HD universe is almost an exact replica of the city of New York. The most important landmarks and the general spirit have been perfectly recreated here. I can't even imagine what kind of labor was done for this. And in GTA V even more. And in GTA VI there will be even more..

I just want to get in the car, turn on the music and drive for hours along the wide avenues of Manhattan, the cozy streets of Brooklyn, the colorful neighborhoods of the Bronx and Queens, also visit actually another state - New Jersey, and even get on a boat or plane and go to Liberty Island. Passing beautiful bridges and enjoying the views of this great city. By the way, there is a nice little thing with bridges - you have to pay 5$ for each pass :) It's just like in real life.
By the way, about the music, there are cool radio stations, but in Complete Edition many songs were removed, so just download the appropriate mod, which brings back the original radio in the game. And the music on the loading screen is especially great!

And also walking through Times Square at night is generally one of my favorite things to do in the game. The city comes alive at night and you want to explore it even more, because during the day it's not always beautiful because of the gloomy filter. It's also fun to visit Cluckin' Bell or Burger Shot, drink Sprunk. There are many more interesting things to do in this city besides story and side quests. Make relationships with girls from a dating site, for example. It will not be boring here if you are not a boring person yourself, if you like to explore the world and are open to something new.

TECH PART
Technically this game is also a masterpiece, for 2008 it has an unrealistic amount of cool and realistic details that aren't even now in 2024 games! The physics here are amazing, better than in GTA V, everyone knows that. But unfortunately the game has a lot of optimization issues.

Steam version of GTA IV is terrible (with GTA:SA by the way the same situation), so to play comfortably you need to install some mods, optimizing the game, and improve the graphics. If you are interested in what I have installed, just ask and I will tell you.

I don't want to summarize anything, I come back to this game regularly, it really saves me.
I didn't mention Episodes from Liberty City, they have their own review.
100% I haven't said much more about this game yet, it doesn't need to. It's wordlessly gorgeous and deserves a quality remaster, not one like the Trilogy has.

Now I will wait for GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories on PC for another 10 years.

Because Rockstar's masterpieces are unparalleled and there's no other choice

~UPDATED~

I finished Red Dead Redemption 2 almost 5 years ago and I really wanted to go through its storyline sequel, I hadn't played RDR at all before that, I even wanted to buy a PS3 from someone only for the this game but left that idea. And now I finally got through the first part, and I'm unrealistically happy about it.
Now I want to replay RDR 2 again, it's one of my all-time favorite game franchises - I have a special love for wild west and early 20th century America. Thanks for the masterpieces, Rockstar. GTA in western style that’s what's really needed.
