I've been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games since a long long time ago. With the reboot being launched at 2013, TR became a more "mature" game and added a lot of whole new features to it. I thought that game reboot was ok. But, this game right here is just astonishing. Let me remind you that I am a TR fan, so some of my comments may be biased.

Story (8/10):
Comparing the story portrayed back at 2013, this story is much more elaborated and is a lot more balanced. We witness now a more mature Lara and a whole new level of complexity when talking about the "villains" in the story and how they relate to the background story of the game. The main story relies on investigations made by Richard Croft "many years ago". Also, some things about Lara's past have been changed a little bit in this game, so you have the chance to know better the story that complements the new TR world. I felt that this story was some kind of great but it also let me down sometimes. I don't want to give spoilers, but if you want to make a comparisson, this story can be compared to the one presented throughout "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade".

Graphics (10/10):
ROTR has to be one of the best looking games I've ever played. DX11 at its best. The textures are a lot better than those used in 2013 (obviously) and a lot of them will remind you of that game. For example, the wooden crates, the salvage crates, even the icons used in the game are the same than in 2013, so you will feel somehow "used to it" if you played the previous game. I'm not going to lie to you: if you want a good experience playing this game, you need a good computer. Some of the components of my PC are somehow "out-of-date" so I had to play this game around low-med graphics. They looked amazing though... but just not that amazing if I had a greater GPU for example. So yes, if you are a graphics enthusiast, you will enjoy this game a lot.

Game mechanics (9/10):
Crystal D has improved a lot between these two TR games. Many of the previous game mechanics are present on this game, many have changed and there are a lot of whole new things out here as well. Also, the grapple is back! There are a lot of new types of weapons such as grenade arrows, poison arrows, etc. Also you can craft a new variety of on-the-run weaponery that will help you in combat. Everything feels smooth and well crafted.

Level Design (10/10):
I missed so much visiting exotic places in the TR reboot back at 2013. In all of the previous TR games, Lara visited a huge set of exotic places around the world and the levels were beautifully made. I think they've accomplished to grab that feeling again, by a little. There are so many beautiful places around ROTR, although they're not that "exotic" at all, but they are perfectly crafted and designed. The crypts and tombs around this game are really enjoyable, both artistically and also because they're rich in content. There are a lot of more "extra" tombs than in the previous release. That's cool, keep it up CD. There are a lot of caves, houses, cities, cliffs, waterfalls, and so on also.

The price... If you are a TR fan, just buy it, you won't be dissapointed and the price won't matter at all. Ok, now i've played this game about 30 hrs at the moment. That covers only campaign mode, but have in mind that I like to explore a lot on this kind of games, so the amount of time I've played this game has a lot to do with exploring and making side quests. So... 30 hrs for $45 (sale) seems about right.

My ultimate advice, if you really want this game just buy it, don't even think about it, it has to be one of the best games I've played.

Overall: 9/10
