It's good now. Not perfect. Vermintide 1 & 2 are still better, but if you're burnt out on those, or you prefer a sci-fi setting, there's a lot of gore-soaked fun to be had with this one.

Gorogoa is the most genuine expression of a dreamstate I've experienced in media.

Buy this instead of Darktide. It's a feature-complete game with loads of content, a fair cash shop, and equally compelling gameplay. The gear progression system is still a baffling downgrade from what we had in the first Vermintide, but at least it works.

Feels more like a proof of concept than a full-fledged game. There are some clever ideas and systems, here - it just needed more time in the dev oven. If you're interested, wait for a sale; I could only see myself recommending this one at a $5 price point.

I originally wrote a review extolling the virtues of Gigantic, it's design, aesthetics, etc - but here's really all you need to know:

The turret-building character in this game is an evil granny whose turrets are magic-flinging grabby hands, and her ultimate summons a giant grabby hand that smacks about all nearby enemies.

Oh, and half of her voice lines are hand-based puns.

This charming and clever choose-your-own-adventure style action rpg is held back by its tragically mundane and clunky combat system. If your the sort of person who can overlook poor combat mechanics, there is a lot here to like. Just be warned, combat comprises about 50% of this game - so there's a lot to overlook.

A beautiful, stylish game, whose developers are unreasonably sadistic - and this comes from a diehard fan of the Souls series. That said, if you're the kind of person who is fine completing a game without doing any of the side content, you'll probably dig Hyper Light Drifter. Alternatively, if you like optional content so challenging that it requires hours of practice, you will also dig Hyper Light Drifter.

I, sadly, do not fall into either of those categories.

Early Access Review
Exhilarating. An exemplar of early access done right.

Why aren't there more people playing this game?! It's fun, fast, and oozes style.
