You know, one wouldn't think a text based story line picking narrative game like this would be capable of building an unhealthy amount of tension over the lives of what are effectively just words on a screen and some (wicked sick) artwork, but s h e e s h I can barely put it down. Good stuff. It's at least worthy of getting a Labor of Love nomination from me.

Ya know.. not bad for day one. It'll probably get even better with patches and time, but at the moment for my tempered expectations it really is what I was hoping for. Good bit of gunplay if ya hunt for it, origins have a huge bit on dialogue as it pops up, lots of potential for alliances and backstabbing.. not bad at all.

Goofy fun. Would recommend. Bring friends.

What a lovely delight of a game!

After playing through the game once, I can safely say that this title does it's job when it comes to atmosphere, be it through the well placed bodies and buildings, to crawling through tiny places, your heart racing in both the game and real world as you peek around corners to see what's up ahead. This game has so much potential, and I hope that more acts come out in the near future.

However, I do have a small complaint, mainly a personal one. The very little combat and the small threat there is in the game. I understand this is an atmospheric game, but when you decide to put any amount of combat into a game, any threat, you expect it to be a bit more in volume, and slightly spread out through an act. The majority of combat is dealing with zombies at the start with a very accurate pistol that can easily get headshots if you time your shots carefully. For this case, it gives you a great deal of ammo as well, arming you up rather effectively for alot of combat. I was able to kill most every enemy in the game and still have enough ammo to fire pot shots at the enviroment with no real guilt. The creatures wern't a real threat, but when other humans started hunting you down with automatic machine pistols, sidearms, and one with a shotgun, you tend to loose health rather quickly, no matter how good you are in a fight. But again, atmospheric game, so it's mostly a small complaint.

I highly recommend this game for all kinds of players, fresh out of the water, and seasoned veteran alike. The story is fantastic, and the pacing is almost spot on from what I'd expect from a game like this. It's free as well, so there's no real reason not to give this a shot.
