Early Access Review
This is a very easy recommendation. If you want a survivor like with multiplayer, this is it. It's very fun and has some clever ideas like friendly fire and how you can work together. It's got matchmaking! Haven't experienced any lag in matches and it's just plain fun.

I actually refunded this game on the principle of performance. With my desktop rig I could lock the 60fps with maxed settings and 1440p native. And even then it still was horrendously optimized. But after trying it on my 4070 laptop, forget it. They really expect you to use dlss on this game. Even a native 1080p couldn't lock 60 unless I turned down some settings or of course enabled frame generation. I will never use frame generation or dynamic resolution.

Started the game, found 2 grenades at the crash site. Threw one of them out of curiosity, it scared a rabbit nearby who started running away. Thinking fast kept pace with the rabbit, and lined up the next grenade. Rabbit gets blown off the ridge, I got down and get the meat. I interact with it for a second time and suddenly I'm hold a rabbit head and aiming it at people like a sacred ward. Also great looking snow effects. 10/10 Kelvins

This is a pretty great soulslike. The combat is very fun and feels good. The graphics are fantastic and the performance is exactly what to expect from a ue5 game (you have to power through it with hardware, they are always poorly optimized cause it's overall not a good game engine). Journey to the west is not something I've read and this games story is apparently like a sequal or follow up to it, so I honestly have no idea whats going on outside of the idea that I'm a reincarnated monkey king on a journey. As far as cons go the biggest one is Many invisible walls on Geometry that looks like you could walk. I assume this was done for collision detection/getting stuck in the environment reasons and it's not a huge issue, it's just something you will notice pretty fast if you walk off the multiple paths the game offers at any point. I would say perhaps the biggest issue and this is really dependent on the player, but it's not nearly as difficult as other soulslikes. Many of the bosses so far I've beaten in one try, including ones with a second form. Now I'm sure it will continue to get more difficult, but I would say this is a good soulslike to hop on to if you want to learn the genre a bit as it keeps a forward momentum with no loss of exp/souls/will on death, instead you get enough exp, you level up get a point to use and such. There's mostly just dodging in this game, no real parry's which may be a great thing to hear for some folks. Overall a great experience that is not frustrating but not as satisfying.

This is such a fun game. It features many different ways to approach situations, then use dice based skill checks to pass through conversations and perform acts. The dice can be leveled up, So you could level up a six sided die, and all six sides could be the number 6 and that's how you get more powerful in this game. The writing is very fun and funny. If you like the surreal visuals definitely check out cosmo D "Tales from off-peak city vol 1". Volume 2 is coming and it's supposed to be a mix of this gameplay and tales, which was in first person. I helped the lady get off work early in the kitchen and she was so excited she sky rocketed out of there. No I'm not joking this happens.

Very fun light-lovecraftian management sim with heavy Visual Novel elements. The dating Sim stuff seems to be who you agree with during conversations so far. The game mainly reminds me of depersonalization in terms of Visuals. I'm hoping it gets more horror oriented, as it does have sudden disturbing flashes. But so far its been mostly a cozy management sim VN.

If you're on the weird side of the internet like myself you probably search out stuff like this. I had heard good things but I had forgotten about this game till someone on my friends list wishlisted and reminded me it existed. I directly bought it and so far have 2, 1 hour play sessions. It's freaking awesome. A wild mind trip, the less you know the better. If you like stuff like "Happys Humble Burger Farm" or general low poly surrealism, this game is for you! Can't wait for the sequel!

so far this sequel is living up to my hopes AND more. It's a total fever dream mind trip. i'm not sure how far i am in to the game but i expect i'll be going 25+ hours on this just like Cooking Companions. if you want to get mind screwed, this game delivers. you really should play cooking companions first so you can really enjoy the level of lore on display and how it expands in this story!

The writing is far too vapid and pretentious to uphold the story. It's like the writers heard a bunch of solipsistic pros then replicated it with no understanding. The first half of the game is pretty enjoyable but just falls so short of its true potential. While cooking companions still reigns supreme in the mind bending Psychological horror VN's, I can recommend this if you're desperate. But not if you haven't experienced the superior choices.

i just wanna start off by saying i had a internet outage and played this for about 10 hours offline, for some reason this information never synced and so i just want to let you know this is after about 12 hours of play, not 2.

THIS GAME IS AMAZING!

it really brings me back to loading up ultima 6 for the first time when the series started to get so detailed you could examine everything in the castle, create all sorts of insane trouble, feed the rat in the kitchen a cheesewheel and then still not know how to exit the castle cause i didn't realize i had to literally "type" words to lord British. my 7 year old mind was blown away.
back to this game, i get those feelings again. but now as a adult and massive Lovecraft fan and scholar this really hits the spot. the story is fantastic and the imagery is very intense and creepy. the dice rolls are satisfying, the characters are pretty awesome and the writing in general really excels at letting you know the hostile land you are in. this game was very worth the wait and i'd highly recommend this experience, the price is also great. also reminded me a tiny bit of nathan ballingrud's "the butchers table" story from Wounds: six stories from the borders of hell
