Fallout 3 is a masterpiece of a game that I barely started playing and enjoyed the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. Of course, the PC version is notorious for having bugs that stop you from playing the game for more than 10 minutes. Luckily, changing some things in the .ini file made it less buggy, yet the game would still crash from time to time so of course quick saving is very helpful. If anyone needs help on fixing their fallout 3, just ask me, I can help you out.
Fallout 3 starts off with you as a baby, born in Vault 101. You are introduced to your father, but you find out your mom died giving birth to you. You get to pick your skills and then you travel a couple years forward, to your 10th birthday. This birthday is special because you receive your very own Pip-Boy 3000. A very handy item in the game. You explore your party, until your dad pulls you away to give you his present which is a BB-gun. You shoot some rad-roaches and then you travel 8 more years in the future to when you are 18 years old. This day is special because everyone that is 18 in the vault is taking the G.O.A.T. test. This test determines what your career will be in the vault. You take this test and then game then travels to a couple weeks later, when your best friend, daughter of the Overseer of the Vault, tells you that your dad has left the vault and put the whole vault in jeopardy. So everyone is looking for you. She helps you out by telling you to leave before they get you. You leave the vault and start your adventure and you find out why your dad, leaves the vault.

The gameplay is really fun. It’s a FPS mixed with an RPG. You level up from finding locations, killing enemies and completely quests. There are also weapons that do more weapons than others and armor sets that take more damage than others. All elements of an RPG game. V.A.T.S. is a system in the game that lets you freeze time and lets you target certain parts of the body, like their head, arm or legs. It’s very helpful. Enough shots into one part, will cripple it and make them not able to use their arm or leg. At the same time, you can also get crippled. If your leg is crippled, you walk slower and if your arm is crippled, then you have less stability with your weapons. The only way you can fix this is if you use a stimpack or sleep in a bed.

The map is very big. There are many areas to explore in the map, like Megaton, other vaults and other factions bases. Factions make the game interesting. They make combat with each other and you can choose to fight for which one. The enemies in the game are varied also. There are rad creatures, raiders and factions. In the town that can visit, are NPC’s. You can interact with them, talk to them, learn things about the town or people, and even trade weapons, armor, ammo, etc. The currency in this game is bottle caps. So if you drink soda with caps, you can get money from them. Since the game takes place in a nuclear wasteland, caps seem fitting for this scenario.
The DLC that are included in the Game of the Year edition, are Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, The Pitt, Broken Steel and Point Lookout. I have played Anchorage and Mothership Zeta. Anchorage takes place in a virtual simulation of the battle of Anchorage against the Chinese. You get a lot of weapons and armor from this DLC mission and it’s pretty great to grab at the beginning of the game because you’ll have some pretty overpowered weapons and armor sets for the beginning of the game. Mothership Zeta is about you finding a UFO crash site in the wasteland, and upon approach, you are abducted by the aliens that the crashed ship belonged to. You meet Somah, she’s been in the cell for a long time and she wants to escape so you and her escape when you encounter a little girl, named Sally, who helps you unlock doors in the ship. You explore the ship and find some people in cyro tubes. You find out they’ve been there for a pretty long time and they didn’t even know where they are. You don’t get any armor sets, but you get some pretty badass weapons from the DLC.

This game is amazing. I’m so pissed at myself that I never played this earlier than I actually did. I bought the game a while ago, but I just never knew how to fix it, so I gave up on playing it. After looking online for about an hour. I found something on it which required to fix something with the AI. So I fixed it and it worked. It still crashes, but it’s a lot less. Most of the time, my mouse just appears on the screen and then that happens, if you click, it minimizes and if you turn to open it back up, it opens, but you can only hear the sound from the game. So you have to completely close it and re launch it. It’s a lot better than it crashing every minute or so. I DEFINETLY recommend this game. It’s a lot more fun than Fallout: New Vegas. I’m not even done with the game either. There are still numerous side quests that you can receive from NPC’s. This game, just 10/10 I love it.
