An awesome retro inspired action platformer that be quite challenging at times.
Having played an earlier build a while ago I was looking forward to the Steam release and I was not disappointed.

If you're a Hololive fan you're sure to enjoy the 8bit arrangement of familiar Hololive songs and cast of characters some of which are playable or others that appear as bosses and NPCs.

You do have to be careful though, sometimes I have found myself trying to find a secret or shortcut only to find that I have jumped over the top of the level and died. The character change controls and Marine's grapple controls can be a bit finnicky at times, but these things didn't ruin the experience for me.

There's quite a few secrets too, some I am yet to find and some bosses I am yet to beat so I've got more to enjoy soon.

Plus, Pekora has a laugh button.

EDIT: A patch has improved the character switch controls

Great remake of some classic skateboarding action.
Hope to see more THPS remakes in the future.

This really brings me back to the BF Bad Company 2 days, but with even more destruction. Not just walls, ceilings, floors but entire buildings can come crashing down.

The team based gameplay is quite good, since I solo queue it's a bit of a gamble whether I'll get a team that sticks together and does the objective or runs off on their own but most of the time they're good enough.

Movement feels good. I'm always a fan of sliding but this even has grapple hooks, dash and climbing to parkour around the map. I imagine they could add some other abilities in future seasons.

Right now the playerbase is strong so I hope they continue to support the game with more content, even before the end of this first season as I have already completed the S1 battle pass.

Sonic boom your way through Frontiers

I've been a Sonic fan for most of my life so I've seen the series go through a lot of changes over the years. Sonic Frontiers is Sonic's first take on an open world style game and it delivers on all the speed, platforming and action you could hope for in a Sonic game.

While Frontiers takes a lot of influence from open world games it is referred to in this case as an 'open zone' game, which just sounded like marketing talk at first but considering how this game is separated into different islands it actually makes sense. Basically you will explore multiple open zone completing puzzles and fighting various enemies as you progress through the story which has some interesting lore regarding the history of the Chaos Emeralds. Some of these islands end with an epic boss fight against a titan.

Frontiers isn't all open zone however as you will also come across Cyberspace stages that play like stages from older 3D Sonic games. Well they're more than similar as I believe these are all recreations of older stages just with a new look applied to them. These levels are a nice change of pace and offer the extra challenge of completing the missions for each stage.

Overall Sonic Frontiers is a solid entry into the Sonic series and a nice new direction. I hope they build on this idea more and maybe make the puzzles more challenging next time.

Ghost Song is a game I had been looking forward to for years and now that it's finally here it was still worth the wait.

It really delivers on the atmosphere with an eerie soundtrack and environments with secrets to discover. It can get quite challenging especially early on in the game when you haven't leveled up enough or found enough upgrades and modules, but some of these bosses are optional too so if you're really getting stuck on them then just avoid them or come back later when you're ready.

Mixing up different modules to change your focus on your gun or melee or maybe somewhere in between allows the player the freedom to approach the game how they want.

The story is quite mysterious in itself and leaves some things unanswered or up to interpretation but its different quests are often full of charm and emotion which made the journey even more engrossing.

Definitely recommend this game. I might give NG+ a try soon.

A nostalgic celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog's first 20 years, featuring a range of levels based on both the classic and modern Sonic games.

While there's certainly more enjoyment to be had here from Sonic fans this game will not disappoint fans of platformers in general.

Plenty of gore and genitals.
Combat is satisfying with Doom-esque executions.
Overall a pretty solid demo that has me interested in the full release.

In the absence of physical expos Devolver Digital gives us the next best thing. Now you can explore a convention center, watching trailers along the way, without having to deal with all the crowds, lines and physical exertion.

A lot of people still remember this game for its disappointing launch but a lot has changed since then with Hello Games releasing many large (free) content updates over the years and are even continuing to do so to this day almost four years after release.

No Man's Sky's procedurally generated universe creates seemingly endless replayability. There's a number of story missions and lore to discover, plenty of things to unlock and rare equipment and ships to obtain. Exocraft also offer an alternative to on foot (or jetpack) travel to make getting around and collecting resources less tedious. Base building is great, allowing for some really elaborate bases and teleporters allow you to easily travel between your bases and to space stations in different galaxies. There's also missions available on the Space Anomaly which can be completed with other players or solo, the weekend missions give you extra rewards so there's an added incentive to return to No Man's Sky.

If you're playing with friends or into base building you'll get even more out of this game, I've been playing solo and found base building a lot more fun than I had anticipated. I definitely recommend this game to those interested, the 50% off sale lately is worth it for sure.
