Stray is a game for cat lovers. Really.
As a game it's basicaly pretty linear puzzle game.
Do not expect open world, you can never choose your path in the story and there is almost never more than one puzzle ahead you. The difficulty of puzzles is fine, not hard, not supereasy. You rarely fight, but when you do, the checkpoint system could be sometimes a bit less frustrating. The graphics looks nice, cat animation is great and story is not bad.

There are three things that makes this game different from others though:
1) The cat. If you are cat person, you will like it much more. You can meow, you can scratch ,you can even sleep for few hours and throw a lots of stuff off the tables. Even though you have to do it sometimes for the puzzles, most of the time you can simply act like a little furry pr*ck. As they do. So it's kinda best cat simulation so far.

On the other hand, if you are not a cat person, you will find the game boring. I would find it boring, if the main character wasn't cat, but Minion or a litte robot or something. The Cat is the difference here.

2) It's nice you can freely roam through roofs, which is quick.

3) Sometimes you solve puzzles in a way you are not used to in other games. The cat doesn't need unlock all the jail bars, it just go through. If an area is guarded by police, nobody cares about cat going in. And so on..

It's family friendly, don't be afraid to play it with kids.
I expected a bit more, wished different game after seeing the trailers, but yeah, it's ok.
5/10 game, 6.5/10 if you have a cat.

A story of a King facing various troubles, from wild daughters, peasant problems and drug dealing to saving whole kingdom during war. And it is an unexpected gem.

The whole gameplay is basicaly about decisions between two choices, but with a longterm and often not really obvious consequences that can matter a lot later in the game. It's similar system to Reigns series, if you made a proper game with a good story out of it.

The fun is in not knowing what happens next and dealing with your choices during the story. Many of those choices lead to the tragic events and are emotionaly difficult to choose or accept. Would you force your smart, funny and playful daughter (kind of Arya from GoT) to marry an ally king, even though you know she will never be happy (or worse)? It is (probably) your only chance to save your kingdom after all, but is it really worth it? There may be better options later, but will you risk it? This game is full of choices like this. And it doesn't really lean to forgive you the bad ones.

Yes, Your Grace is sometimes really funny (omg those voices! Aristocracy... The bard !!! And Wojtek! :) ). However, it is even more frequently sad or tragic. I tried to be a benevolent king, forgiving people that betrayed me before, deserters and so on.. But I think I have never chose "Execute him!" option in any game quicker than here. I was furious in the end.

Pixel graphics is really nicely done with a film-like moments and perfectly serves its purpose: to provide a good story. The music and sound is even better for the immersion, with really strong Slavic vibes.

I finished the game in approx. 6 hrs with around 2/3 achievements during one run.

Developers made really great job here and I'm looking forward to anything they will do in the future.

Never heard of this game, probably got it in some bundle and I just tried it before removing from my "try that" list...

...and then I finished it in two 3hrs sessions.

It's a pretty linear top down shooter, that grabs you from the first moment. Even though a story is a bit lame and trippy, the game itself can be really scary sometimes, especially when zombies and other enemies are really fast and can kill you in a matter of seconds. However, it's not really challenging. Also, I liked the autosave system: it was somehow on the right places. Almost never frustrating, yet many times I really wanted not to die, because I knew what I would need to repeat. Rarely the developer gets this right (at least for me).

I like pixelart, but here it "only" serves its purpose, don't expect beautiful sceneries. There are only few guns in the game, about 10 including some grenades and an axe, but still satisfying and different enough to recognize whether you have a shotgun or a mp5.

Finished it in a little more than 5hrs with 66% achievements and while I was stuck for a moment in some places, it was mainly because of some boss fight, almost never because I didn't know what to do (maybe once, Prison level).

Last, but not least, this game simply works.
It's a bit sad I have to say it like it is a positive and not a standard, but we see the state of a game industry these days, right? This game works. From start to end. You will not have a problem. Ok sound, good controls, no bugs, you can skip every dialogue if you want to, resolution doesn't mess with the icons on your desktop when you quit... It's just a smooth experience.

If you like games like Hotline Miami, Teleglitch or the one I really liked and always forgot it's name, give it a try.

edit: The Final Station!!! :)

This game is a modern version of Panzer General II.
That is a good thing.

There are minor flaws, UI isn't the most clear thing in the history of computer games, but still playable and I can recommend it to every WW2-turn-based-games fan. However, until this review I didn't play Panzercorps 2, which may be a better option considering both games are few years old now, their prices are often low and it seems bigger and improved from this first one.

Let me say two things first:
1) I was a fan of Medal of Honor, Call of Duty and Battlefield 1942 back in the old days.
2) I hate almost all the "new" ones (everything after CoD: MW2, except maybe one of them), because I consider singleplayer an unbeliavably dumbed down walking simulator that needs exactly zero skill, provides usually a horrible story and focus only on production values. Multiplayer in these so called games is then a pew-pew fest for kids, on small uninteresting maps, instant respawn and not even close to the multiplayer even 15-20 years ago, with tens of players on huge maps and actually strategic gameplay. That's not nostalgia speaking, just play the games for yourself, you'll see.

Having said that, this one tries to bring smething different - a really intense experience of a rough warfare. And it succeeds.

Yeah, the game looks amazing. But what gets me the most is the storytelling and simply the feeling you are in the middle of something much bigger than you. Of course, there are all the bad things you would expect - enemy spawning, weapon crates everywhere, Hollywood style action - it's basically an arcade game. However, if you want to play a game, that is as close to the film as it gets, this is it. It's a film with 5 short stories, very good characters and kinda dumb action, but overall it's totally worth it.

Good job.

The closest thing to Stanley Parable and not only because of narration, but also the humour. It has never been so much fun to be a ♥♥♥♥.

Of course it is NSFW and no-no for kids.
Also GJ has a party mode that seems to be at „OMG we are so drunk and this game is hillarious” level, but I just had a glimpse view in it, didn't try it much.

After just a few games FREE LIVES are definitely now on my „watch this developer closely” list.

Daniel Vavra (Mafia , Kingdom Come) LOVES THIS GAME.

There are still two traditional Czech computer game paper magazines on the market. In one of them called Level, every month Daniel Vavra has a two-page opinion chapter called Hell's Pit. In the recent issue of the magazine (Level 298) he scolds that AAA games are very average these days, only a few with original ideas, many of them have dumb gameplay and level design. He gradually criticizes basically all the games he saw or played this year. Days Gone. Death Stranded. Crackdown 3. Anthem. Rage 2. Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Control. Even trailer for The Last of Us 2. And then he continues with this passage:

---
"And then I was looking on Game Pass for something my daughter could play, so it wasn't too violent and it looked nice and not a kitsch. She chose something from the picture with a name you can't remember, called Yoku's Island Express. It is an open-world platformer somehow mixed with pinball. And you can't die in it. I played with my daughter and when she went to bed I played it for 4 more hours alone, because it's absolutely awesome.

Technically it's brilliant. It is not done like most similar games from tilesets, but the whole giant world is hand-painted. But when the drawings start to move, they are a bit 3D, the light works in them and so on. And even though you cannot die, it's hard. But just so much that you'll never be stuck long enough to make you bored, it keeps you entertained. I haven't played such a good game in a long time.

Because today's world is a mess, of course, this absolutely godly, beautiful, original, fun game went through unrecognised, with most people preferring to beat off to the millionth copy of moronic franchise made by multinational corporation, looking for something that simply is not there."
---

So here you are.
Not exactly my review, is it, yet a review by a proper game designer.
However I agree completely with Dan (played it on the other account).

Jets'n'guns 2 is better looking version of original Jets'n'guns.
It's my antidote to a busy day.
It's smooth, it's relaxing and it lets your worries melt away.
By killing millions.

This game is your moment of zen.
