Outer wilds is a mysterious and oddly challenging exploration game that subtly entices you into actually wanting to know more about this complex solar systems history, while presenting you with individual and unique hand-crafted, ever changing planets, each with their own difficulties ( I’m looking at you Brittle Hollow and Dark Bramble ). Every detail, both small and large is expertly crafted to award the astute player who is willing to delve into the games mysteries and unravel its secrets.

The gentle yet dark theme combined with incredible score are beautiful and terrifying at the same time. At the end of your journey, you will find tranquillity in sorrow, and learn to let things go. It leaves you pondering on fate, loss, and most of all, humming Riebecks banjo tune for the next week.

The ending is philosophical brain superfood, as the idea it presents and explains is so beautifully thought out.

This is the kind of game that will make you glad you stopped and smelled the pine trees along the way. Certainly, an experience I will never forget.
