Early Access Review
For an early access title, I have very few complaints, though eyerolling over the lack of custom keybinding. This game is just adorable, minus the museum boy who looks like cartoon Jeffrey Dahmer. While there's plenty of content already to have fun with, there's huge potential for more to be added in the realm of creatures, biomes, and perhaps ocean travel and more islands. Just unlocked the mines at time of review. Will prob review again later.

Though I encourage you to buy this version of the game, either way, both this and the standard version of the game are a solid 10/10 everyone needs to play at some point. Nominated for Best Environment Award 2018, years after its release, because it deserves it! :)

I mean, it's a classic worth double the cost of the most overexposed/overpriced/overhyped game you can think of today, but if you don't plan on subscribing to the Michael Jackson Hunter, Tio's Time Bomb Pipe Bomb, and Mortal Kombat TOASTY!!! Molotov mods, you will be missing out on the funniest death and clutch sequences of your life.

5/10

Lacks the level depth and puzzle complexity that made the first two Trine games great. Short mini-maps were fun, and the 3D mechanics are nice, though I found the controls a bit odd even after rebinding (used keyboard & mouse).

Too few achievements, all of which can be earned in a single playthrough.

Visually, this game is just as pleasing as the first two, but not worth its full price. I would not recommend buying until at least 75% off.

"I APPROVE... sort of"

Neutral points:
-Lohner (Level Narrator?) took an extra swig of Irish accent before giving his reads for pre-level scripts. Jussayin'
-Awkward moment where occasionally you'll hearing Kerillian's voice come from Bardin in-game. I don't know how to feel about this.

The Good:
-More content. Who doesn't want more variety?
-Boss + Boss music. This part of the second map was incredibly well done! Voice work for the boss is fantastic too, though he could use a few more lines other than "KILL THEM!" + "NOW!!!!"
-Both maps have Tomes and at least 1 Grim. Have yet to find a second on either map.
-New Weapon makes Kruber a little more accessible and appealing to those too unwilling to drop their Trueflight Bow/Bolt Staff.

The Bad:
-Both new maps have a few issues. Courier is loaded with spots to kill safely without getting attacked. You can also get stuck in at least 2 locations on this map where you need to die in order to advance the level, specifically at the Signal Tower and also behind the left wall after you escape darkness (don't go looking for a grim there!).
-The Courier is far too easy on all difficulties. It's merely a straightforward trek through various environments, most of which already exist in the game. The ending offers no finale. Imagine doing Garden of Morr without having to break the bell, simply walking through, or escaping the Castle Drachenfels halls without any tides. Pretty map, yes, but YAWN!
-Given how short the second mission is, they could have added a third map, but I'm being ungrateful.

Overall, another great DLC, but definitely inferior to the previous two.

Labor of Love? Sure, but I still think they should have stopped releasing new killers/survivors a few years ago.

I'd sell my livestock, my cask cellar, my sheds and all my jewels to fund an artichoke dip factory farm where I'd slave day and night to make Clint marry me but instead I have to settle for Harvey....who at least had the decency to give me a bottle of wine at Christmas the year before Kent showed up and gave me a standard quality nautilus shell. I'm sorry I took your gift for granted Harvey, as I guzzled it down at 1am in my dinosaur barn, sobbing over Clint and plotting Kent's death.

Proudly nominated this game for The "Just Five More Minutes" Award.

Got a problem in real life? Trust: it can be blamed on Harun al-Rashid.
