So I've played Baulder's Gate 1 before. I'm a pretty big fan of oldschool RPG's and, although a recent release, this game really lives up to that classic feeling. I'm finding it to be pretty flawless.

The story/lore is some of the best I have ever experienced in any game. I am completely immersed in the goings on, right down to reading the descriptions of every single item. The voice acting is fantastic, and the script is well written. The dialogue options really allow me to roleplay my character, as well as my other party members.

The music of Pillars is mind blowing. Sometimes RPG soundtracks can get a little old - but not this one! It does what an OST should do - it works to really draw you into the game. The last time that I encountered a soundtrack that did it this well was Skyrim and the Witcher 1.

Combat is fun and varied. All of the classes have well defined differences - and boy, there are a lot of classes! I really enjoy the mage's spell system, and being able to learn spells from other (dead) mages. Exploration is awesome, and finding hidden loot is even more awesome - especially since upgrades actually feel like upgrades in this game.

Having a stronghold is SO COOL. It's like Path of Exile's hideouts on steroids... plus it's really nice to see old party members being stationed there, ready for your beck and call.

Finally, you really get what you pay for. I'm 26 hours in and only just now beat act 1. It's been a great time so far, and it only gets better the more I play.

I'd really suggest picking this game up if you're a fan of oldschool RPG's, D&D, or really any pausable combat system RPG. It's been totally worth the time I've invested in it, and I cherish sitting down to this game every night.
