This game is infinitely huge and has amazing communities of people surrounding it, and I think that it is worth trying if you are interested in it.
My main issues with the game are that while the main story in No Man's Sky is really interesting and I loved delving into it, the story itself is basically 100% conveyed through text. It gets the point across but are definitely not the most interesting way to tell a story in a video game. I just think that some moments of the story like the part of the story that explains how the Korvax subdued The First Spawn would do much better with pre rendered cutscenes to really tell the story.
Other problem is that multiple side quests rely on waiting for things to happen. There is literally a sidequest that has a 24 hour wait, then an objective that takes around 10 minutes to complete, and then rinse and repeat like 3 or 4 times. It has come to the point where I just do the 10 minute mission and then log off for the day just to wait the 24 hours, atleast give me some busywork instead of a timer. Luckily this only affects the sidequests and not the mainquest as far as I'm aware.
Beyond these nitpicks, the game looks pretty good, the story is interesting (albeit a little predictable) the soundtrack is great when it kicks up, and the collection of sidequests is a joy.
