EDIT - Devs as of November 2023 fixed some well known bugs such as PD lasers targeting both enemy and friendly projectiles. as well as some big changes such as updating the game from 32-bit to 64-bit, which should greatly help the mod community. the devs still care for their old and niche game, an if given the rights for another star wars game, id be keen on seeing a new and update Empire At War with today's given technology enhancements from this 2000's era RTS game

i have over 700hrs on a copy that i "downloaded" and plus 239 via steam. this game was the very first RTS i ever played and i loved it, it introduced new ways to star wars that i never ever saw or could conceve from the movies. the abilty to build up massive fleets and complety reck the AI because there pretty crap on easy and meduim unless if u choose hard which they just become a harsment. mods are very good with this game and there are many out there ethier moding the ye olde graphics and AI to blazing new units, ships and planets, and even mods that completely change what universe the game is set and based on, eg. star trek, halo ect.

over all this game, with flaws. still is a blast to play even without mutiplayer, i still enjoy playing it time to time but never like the ye olde days of 8 hours a day. all that i wish for now is a sequal which i know is never going to happen but still or a group of modders say remake the game, fix its flaws with the knogledge that more recent RTS has found and perfected and restore the glory of this game to what it use to be, that which is a star wars RTS know as Star Wars - Empire At War
