I can't believe I haven't written a review for this game, despite having it for 8 years... Whooo, how time flies. I remember when I bought this in the earliest of access... The amazing things I could do in space! Make a spaceship, mine asteroids, and to top it all off, attach guns to said ship! The damage has a real impact on your ship, so if you don't plan your designs, one armor panel lost could mean no more oxygen inside your ship!

I've had so many playthroughs in this game, every time different. Sometimes I just start on the moon, sometimes on Earth, sometimes on Mars... You get it. It's always fun to challenge yourself by choosing a different planet. Making factions with your friends, be the first to settle down near iron, nickel and so on when it comes to resources and defend it from would-be pirate players? Sign me up!

You never really run out of things to do in this game. You need to manage power, find some more resources, you can now trade with NPCs and do missions in order to get paid, so that you could pay for rare minerals if you can't find any, etc. You can basically be a trader, a miner, a pirate, a soldier, or just an engineer. This game has it all.

Let's talk DLCs. Yes yes, microtransactions bad. But hear me out! All the DLCs are cosmetic and will change how your spaceship/base looks. To me this is worth it, because your base can then stand out from everyone else's. You can make a multi-colored disco ship with a jukebox and listen to some tunes while shooting up your enemies' base... It's honestly a cool little thing. And I love those small things. The DLCs are also reasonably priced, none of which costs more than 3 or 4 EUR/USD, and there are currently 9 if I remember correctly. They also add these fun missions you can do, or if you just wanna show off to your friends how cool your base/ship looks, they are honestly worth it.

If you want a lot of fun with friends for hours on end, get this game. If you like space and spaceships (which you do, let's face it), get this game. It is now stable and runs smooth on pretty much any system, so that is also a plus!
