I don't think that Stardew Valley is a game that someone ends up just accidentally stumbling upon due to it seemingly being recommended by everyone, from people with thousands of hours on CSGO or TF2 to someone who's just opened steam for the first time.

I personally had to try two or three time before I started my playthrough that got me to the end of the game, but once you stick to a save, so much becomes available. You really begin to get to know and care for the people in this town, and whether you like them a character from the beginning or not, you get to see the friendlier side of them and realise they may not be as cold as you thought they were.

The farming and seasonal side of the game is surprisingly well fleshed out for a 2D game, somewhat to the point of where it does better than some 3D games, and its obvious that most indie farming games try to replicate the feeling from this game, most of the time falling short.

The soundtrack is honestly phenomenal, and it's one of those OST's that's nice to just listen to in the background without it drawing your complete focus to it.

There's so much to say about this game, and I don't think I could sum up my entire experience in one review, I've played this game through once, and with the vast modding scene, there's so much replayability available to make each playthrough feel special.

Whether at full price or discounted, Stardew Valley is a heartwarming and beautiful game that has had so much love and care put into it over the years and it is so worth your time to play. No matter where you end the game after you close it for the day, you'll always be left feeling a little better than you did when you booted it up.
