Welcome to the ruins of La-Mulana, a place where the mother lays to rest, where traps wait for you at every corner and an epic adventure will take place. You slip into the role of Lemeza Kosugi, an experienced archeologist who wants to explore the ancient ruins to find what is spoken of as "the secret treasure of life".

The game is filled with ancient stone tablets. They're everywhere and provide the player with background history and puzzle hints. Just make sure you have a scanner and your translation software to read them.

I have to say, this game is a pure gem. The controls are nice, the gameplay feels kind of like Metroid and the setting reminds of Indiana Jones. It's an interesting mixture that works surprisingly well. Also, the soundtrack. THE SOUNDTRACK! It's so good! All the areas and bosses have their own tracks, which gives them their own personal feeling. It's definitely one of my all-time favourite video game soundtracks.
You can tell the game was created with love and attention to detail. La-Mulana really got a place in my heart, it is my favourite steam game and will probably stay in my top three forever.

In terms of difficulty, the puzzles range from easy and kind of obvious to extremely hard and cryptic. So completing this game without a guide is incredibly hard (attempting it can lead to frustration). So please consider having a look into the wiki or a guide, if you're stuck. The game is too good to not finish it.

Also you'll die. A lot. Have fun!
