This game cooks. Replacement of MOBA autoattack mechanics and movement with skillshots and wasd across the board is an intersubjective improvement to the genre as a whole. It's a 'MOBA' that plays and feels a lot like an FPS, with a lot of hidden depth to its interactions and characters. I haven't been able to put this down since I've started, and I hate most MOBAs and have trouble getting into pvp FPSes that aren't Team Fortress 2.

Just remember to rebind glide to something other than your jump key!

Excellent experience. You get pretty good at it then it's a really good chill downtime braindead game to play whilst listening to podcasts or jamming to music. Possibly even the legendary in-game soundtrack. Seriously, demon hunter is pog hours fr.

I used to hate this game for the changes they made to it. Swat is still budget commando, edars are definitely at least a little frustrating, and the rng of wave spawning really does suck.
However, after playing some custom games that were limited to old zeds...
it was boring. Boring as hell. The new zeds all unironically add to the experience and make it more engaging and intense. I do think QPs can be problematically overkill in SP sometimes however it really depends upon the other spawns.

The reality is, I die to the OG zeds more than the new ones: husks and stalkers in particular really get me sometimes haha.
Overall, each class plays quite differently and is enjoyable in their own way. They are all HOE viable (although survivalist makes me hate myself) and fun to play. I love firebug, berserker, commando, field medic... they are extremely excellent. Gunslinger is super pog.

Talent trees could be better (seriously, most of them are 100% going to be built one way every time no exceptions--eg, firebug).

My #1 unchanged gripe about this game is the levelling. The XP required to hit 25--which gives the fun and often important zed time talent, btw--is RIDICULOUS and inaccessible. I remember grinding for hours on xp servers and still not getting close enough. Now, however, there are servers that get you there VERY fast--so it's manageable, but still fundamentally a problem with the game's design.

Overall,, excellent game. Good time.
