Okay okay, where do I even start. First of all GOTY 2020 easily. Risk of Rain 2 is just amazing, I think that's a good start. Why is this game so good, time to find out!


Gameplay:

This game's gameplay is amazing, so yes, the actual game part of the game is outstanding and I've put in over 500 hours within less than half a year; still intend to play more too! Not only is this game a 3D rogue-lite which (personally) I've never seen before, but the way it gets you to constantly fear your impending doom as the timer and difficulty slowly rises together makes this game truly unlike anything I've ever played before.


Story/Lore:

Now, this game doesn't display it's story very well and you can easily complete the whole game and not know a thing about what happened except for crashing on an alien planet and trying to escape. However, I think this works in the game's favour, it lets players choose whether they want to invest time researching the lore logs and environments or just enjoy the game and it's gameplay. But if you are interested in Lore then I urge you to (preferably) play or research the 1st game's Lore as it will give you context for certain parts of this game.


Music:

Oh my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god the music. The music is probably my favourite part of this game, it's outstanding. It fits so well with this game and it's world, so please turn it up and don't mute the music (or at least give it a try). It isn't necessary but certain songs (some of the best) use/remix parts of the 1st game's OST (by the same composer) so again, I'd recommend playing the 1st game before this if you want to have an even better experience. Overall Chris Christodoulou did an amazing job with this soundtrack.


TL;DR:

This game has a pretty damn good story, amazing gameplay, and outstanding music. I'd recommend playing the 1st game before this but it definitely isn't needed (in fact I played 2 first). 11/10, I hope you can enjoy this as much as I did and still do.
