Banished is an amazingly crafted city building game. It's a love note to the genre. A love note filled with hateful words and demeanoring phrases. This game is difficult. Be warry unintelligent gamer, this is not the city builder where you can throw down some buildings and bask in the glory of your inefficient yet somehow opperational city. You need to plan, You need to think. You need to survive.

The game just absolutely feels lovingly crafted. Everything runs smooth as butter. The game loads and is playable in seconds. The download is 251mb. How? Each map is procedurally generated. Each and every experience will be slightly different and they will all challenge your ability to plan a city to stand the test of time.

In the wise words of Dark Souls...Prepare to Die!

EDIT(2015): I see a lot of reviews complaining about how the experience is the same thing over and over again. It really is, but if you're not a complete idiot you'll realize that Banished is in the City Builder genre. If you've played any city builder like Sim City, Cities XL, or Cities:Skylines, you'll quickly realize that building a city in those games is also a repetitive formula. I don't understand how people buy the game without realizing that it's a city builder and that all city builders follow a formula for success. So word of warning to you prospective buyer. BANISHED IS A CITY BUILDER.
