Good days that ended in 2007...since Empire the whoring began. Though it's not fully true you had to mod M2TW to play as the best faction: The Papal States.

I remember the days when i was able to play a game without having to spend the games price twice. I remember when you could just play as every faction with the simplicity of "unplayable" to "Playable" in the files.

...mods make it better, like they do in almost all games. But at least it's now fully playable. Surely not the best TW ever made...far from that but you can't call it unplayable. It's not Shogun 2 or Medieval 2 but it's not unplayable without mods. The Wrath of Sparta DLC is pretty good actually. The thing with me is the DLC whoring made in R2 and ATW. But that's my opinion.

Rome wasn't patched in a day. In my oppinion, if it takes a year of patching for a game to be good, plus over 75% of the fanbase saying the game is unplayable without mods, it is a bad game. I could go on for hours about why this game is horse shit but i've got better things to do.

...it's not bad after the Emperor's Edition. You should have seen how it was before that! i bought it on patch 7 and WTF was that! And in the launch day?! That wasn't TW.
