I hadn't been surprised by a game the way I just was by Her Story in a long, long time.

It has a brilliant game mechanic: you play as a detective utilising an old police terminal, and you can search for videos related to a ten years old case.

At first, you've only got one keyword ("murder"), but examining the resulting videos you discover more themes and words that you can then use to find more videos, that you can examine to find more keywords, etc etc.
As the story unfolds (in a totally non-linear way as there's no exact order you'll find the clips in) you start piecing together the events behind it, feeling like a real detective.

The writing is absolutely stellar. As you discover more and more elements, videos that were perviously uninteresting take on a whole new meaning, and little meaningless details start coming together to form a wide picture.
An absolute gem of a game, from the writer and designer of one of the best games of the previous generation. (Silent Hill Shattered Memories).

GET IT!
