The game is somewhat fun but 40$ for this is a bit of a rip off. You get two armies in the base game, both of those armies only have a hand full of units compared to their tabletop range. Not to mention weird things like there being intercessors but not assault intercessors, you have to use first born marine assault squads and you get a predator but not a repulsor. But you only have intercessors you cant take first born marine tactical squads. Most units dont have any variants to them, you cant even field different predator variants or diffrent dreadnaught variants, those two have two weapon selections and thats it. It seems like both sides can only really field 4 or so viable armies in any of the point ranges. Just as one example you HAVE to take hell blasters as your anti tank, that is your only option, no predator with anti tank, nothing, if you dont take that you have ZERO ranged anti tank, you can take a single melta gun on two vehichles but those do basically nothing. A entier role in a army is filled by a single unit. None of the characters have terminator armor variants and hell even the terminators are trash. Somehow they managed to make terminators worse then in tabletop. They die to anything and deal barely any damage while costing about as much as a libarian dreadnaught that can basically three shot everything in the game while having better armor and more health. I seriously dont understand why they cant at least add some of the re skined models, like take the jump pack off the deathcompany assault marines, give them a bolter and bam deathcompany marines, Reskin the intercessors bam deathcompany intercessors. Give the predator a new turret bam new predator variant, re color the libarian bam captain, give a the libarian a shield and maybe a banner and bam blade guard ancient, why cant the agressors use melee? THEIR MAIN JOB IS MELEE AND THEY ARE DEPICTED WITH THEIR FISTS UP IN A BOXING POSE FFS, The list goes on, but seriously give me a weekend and a computer with blender or any other 3d modeling software and I will quadruple the unit roster for marines and tyranids

I have made 6 diffrent lists and did 10 battles against AI and I feel like I have already experienced everything the game has to offer. This just isnt enough content to keep you interested for any extended period of time. This game needs double the units and tripple the maps before it will be worth that price tag. Does GW not have 3D models you can just rip and rig? If your not gonna add more models then at the very least add steam workshop support, if you can see anything from the Dawn of war or tabletop sim modding community people will flesh this game out into something actually worthwhile in a few days. As it is this game feels like a half finished tech demo with place holder armies for something much better.

The game is really fun as of now, but it feels wrong in alot of ways that are hard to explain. Its a colony sim that wants to be a city builder. And in most ways it just doesnt work that well. Honestly the biggest problem with it is that the time scale per day is that of a city builder, where a day goes past in a few minutes, but your colonists still walk at a realistic pace, so they are unwilling to walk across the not very large map for a job, meaning you end up needing to build smaller colonies near resources in order to harvest them rather then your citizens just being willing to commute a bit to their jobs. This also means you cant really build districts, you cant have a entertainment district or a refinement district, you need to build everything everywhere and cluster things around resources. This is made worse by the fact houses dont act as houses, citizens will not eat at home, and will not goto the bathroom or bathe at home, you need to provide all these services communally. And because citizens wont actually walk to where these services are provided you need to build entertainment and food and all of that where your citizens are. This makes the game feel awkward at best, and really as if its having a identity crisis. Also there are numerous parts that feel unfinished

The map is way too small for 10,000 citizens. 10,000 is the max size you are supposed to reach, and with the size of maps this is a stretch. You will need to fill up 90% of the map inorder to actually house and entertain all of those people. This makes building anything that looks aesthetically pleasing basically impossible at the later stages of the game

Bridges, why the hell cant you build bridges? Deep water is impossible to cross and can lock you off from very large sections of your map if your unlucky with map generation. And this just seems dumb. Why hasn't this been added to the game?

Storage buildings will not automatically level off with each other to a similar quantity of every resource. You need to basically do this manually. So you can have one storage building on one side of the map full of resources, but one on the other side of the map will be completely empty. It would be alot nicer if they would automatically swap resources between eachother to stay at a similar level. This causes alot of issues later in the game and forces you to build alot of haulers and transporters, taking up valuable space. Why cant I just assign warehouse workers to do this? Why do these need to be separate buildings?

Export and import depots also take up alot of room for what they do. This really seems like something that should be managed directly from a warehouse, why do I need to fill up space that could easily house 200 citizens just for depots? Depots can also only accept one type of resource each, so you end up needing alot of them, and all over the map for larger colonies that have multiple mines that you want to export from. Its silly and takes up alot of valuable space

There are probably alot more issues with the game right now that I am simply forgetting. This game really is very fun, I just want it to be a bit better, currently it feels like its on the edge of perfection, with a few tweaks and maybe a few overhauls in some areas it could be extremely fun. But now its extremely fun and addicting but also extremely frustrating in alot of minor ways. And that is arguably worse then the game just being bad. I really hope this continues being developed into something amazing, I just cant really recommend getting into it right now

Also the game desperatly needs Z levels. The maps wouldnt be anywhere near as cramped if you could just build two or three floor houses and work shops.

This game is.... Alright. But it really seems like a very very very very simple concept and engine that has had ♥♥♥♥ stapled onto it until its barely clinging to life begging for its suffering to end. This really feels like it was just meant to be clip together cubes and slap some wings onto it. But now the game expects you to somehow finagle around tiny little control buttons with a control scheme that feels like your actively wrestling with it half the time.

Like all the advertisments you see on the store page are 100% just procedural fuselage parts, the problem is these parts act exactly the same as cubes. they have 6 connection points and need to be clipped onto each other, but say you want to build something like a F14 that has separate engines from the cockpit, you have to clip it onto the side of the cockpit and then you need to use a co-ordinate input to move it to where you want. You cant just have a move tool pop up and drag it to where you want it, you gotta input the co-ordinates. And once you place it and start building the fuselage you want, that by the way isn't some automatically smooth surface, its all basically flat sections meaning if you want a round nose cone you need to use 16 diffrent fuselage sections to make it actually look round. There is no splitting fuselage sections or adding in extra segments in the middle of a fuselage, if you want to change the design in a way that would require adding more segments to the middle of something, you have to rip it in half and then add in more segments.

The way you sculpt the fuselage segments is very janky in and of itself. You have a few choices for corners, you can make a circular fuselage, a fuselage with rounded corners, sharp corners, and "smooth" corners. The problem is you cant adjust these at all, smooth corners always have the same radius of the smoothing meaning it makes small ones look round and large ones look square. Same thing goes with the round corners. Meaning that the only corners that actually work properly for every size are sharp corners and circles

Wings are just blocks. Dont let the advertising fool you there is no aerofoil generation options, they are squares, the way you make them actually look like wings is by literally attaching fuselages to them and sculpting them into the wing shape you want. This is obviously extremely janky and I have no clue why they havent added any form of generating these wing shapes in a game about making planes. Hell KSP moders figured this stuff out years ago, somehow a mod for ksp out classes the wing generation in this game. That says something. Wings also cannot be generated as control surfaces. So like on the tail of a F18 where the whole horizontal stabiliser is also the elevator, so the whole thing rotates. Yeah you cant do that normally. The way you do that is by attaching a wing to a motor and then programing the motor to respond to controls. Why cant this just be a basic feature? Why does this require a stupid workaround to actually work? Wing control surfaces are also just dumb in general, you want to set a control surface to both pitch and roll? Nope, cant do that. You want to change the angle of a control surface? Yeah no cant do that either.

Weight and materials just arent a thing. You cant change what anything is made out of. This is a shame and also pretty silly but whatever, its not like just adding a few options that changed the weight and health of parts is like one of the simplest things to implement but fine. Why cant dead weight capacity scale with block size? You can add dead weight to blocks with a simple slider, problem is this maxes at 1000lb regardless of how big the box is, meaning a 100x100m box will have the same weight capacity as a 1x1mm box. Why? You already do this exact calculation for fuel, why isnt this extended to dead weight? why? WHY?

All the components besides wings and fuselages cannot be customised *AT ALL*. You cant scale them, form them, or tune them. Your landing gear is just a little too short? Too bad. You want a slightly bigger engine on your plane? Sucks for you. You want a larger cockpit? Lol no. You want to build a medium sized helicopter? Nah there is a large helicopter blade and a small helicopter blade, those are your options lol. You want to choose if your engine after burns or not? Psh nah.

The list goes on and I didnt even play this for that long. This really feels like your trying to build model airplanes with lego, a propane torch, and a scalpel. Sure you can technically do it but why the ♥♥♥♥ would you ever want to? Dont get fooled by the advertisements on the store, this game is basically just lego, trying to do anything else with it is actively forcing it to do something it feels like it was never meant to do. I managed to make a few planes that looked and preformed pretty well with the procedural parts but really this game absolutely need a full UI rework and a complete building overhaul to actually be good to build with, or hell actually just make a new one at this point. Honestly if the game was just advertised as lego then fine, it does that pretty well and it works decently, but it seems to be advertised as something more proper then it actually is, so I will judge it based off of that.

Very promising, give it a few years and this will become DCS but for tanks. Currently its very lacking in terms of content and frankly it doesn't have the highest graphical fidelity for 2023. It doesnt really have infantry, and most of the missions feel a little empty or not particularly well made. The lack of division/team communication is probably the biggest thing missing from the game. The crew communication inside the tank is great but if another tank on your team spots something or gets hit you wont know it unless you look at them physically. Also no VR support, that is a little dissapointing. And there is no multiplayer. But over all what is here is very well thought out and its a very solid base for what will hopefully be the top realistic ground forces game. Just probably not worth playing right now unless you are very into cold war tanks

I really wanted to like this game. It is theoretically made specifically for me. I play guitar and drums an unhealthy amount, and I exclusively play metal, I also play a absolute ♥♥♥♥ load of rhythm games from guitar/clone hero to beat saber I have been playing rhythm games since I was 12, and I love arena based shooters, I have at least a hundred hours in ultrakill and probably two hundred in doom 2016+eternal, not to mention I basically grew up playing classic doom mods on my laptop. So why do I not love this game, keep in mind I dont think its bad, pretty average really 5/10, its just not deserving of the 98% it has currently. Why? Well let me break it down

A: The movement is complete trash. Sorry not sorry they really need to go back to the drawing board on this. You need evidence? The #1 movement tech in the entire game “soaring” that is basically the only thing you can do to gain any speed. Yeah that… basically no one uses it, only 24% of players have the achievement that you get for soaring 100 times (To put that in perspective I got that on the second level because I actually try to use movement). The movement system is so ♥♥♥♥ that 76% of players literally dont even engage with it. The only movement combo “Devils flight” Is probably the most janky thing ever. You do it by soaring and then dashing, but if you use your double jump first before dashing it doesnt work, and to make things worse double jumping completely removes all momentum from soaring. Also Soaring is extremely inconsistent, no matter what I do I seem to randomly fail it 20% of the time, keep in mind I am the type of person who knows how to do every single movement tech in ultrakill extremely consistently. To put that in perspective I can perform a glitched movement tech that involves pressing 3 buttons frame perfectly MORE CONSISTENTLY THEN A INTENDED MOVEMENT TECHNIQUE. The game also has no form of anything that would allow you to hold momentum, you get a dash jump and thats it. Thats not horrible I guess, there are games with less, but this is extremely below average. The dash also serves as the doge in the game, however the dash is best when performed on beat, and the enemies don't attack on beat… You can see where this is going, basically if something is attacking you off beat lol get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you just cant doge it as effectively.

B: Weapons. They are poorly thought out to say the least. The skull is useless except for the ultimate, the shotgun is fine but is out classed in ranged damage by the pistols and in crowd control by the crossbow. The boomerangs are just… Pointless, they don't do anything that the pistol or crossbow dont. Its the last weapon you get and it just doesn't add anything. Really the crossbow is massively overpowered, as long as you can reload on beat you have a fire rate almost equal to the pistols with a explosive that has a massive AOE. It really just seems the pistols and crossbow are the only weapons really worth using if you want optimal damage output. The pistols also completely out class the skull in everything but ultimate, and the crossbow entirely out classes the sword in terms of crowd control.

C: The game play in general is slow and doesn't reward you for being aggressive. For the most part you are best suited standing a solid 20 feet away from anything you are fighting. Enemies don't really telegraph attacks amazingly, mostly due to the lack of sound ques for their attacks and they have perfect predictive aiming so you just need to keep your distance and doge attacks as they come to you. All your weapons including the sword have a very long effective range so you're not even punished for keeping your distance. Oh and your execution that is supposed to reward you for being aggressive has near infinite range on most maps. I only once ran into a situation where I actually had to close the distance to perform an execution. So the only thing that is supposed to reward you for closing the distance can be done from miles away with little commitment or risk since you can just immediately jump away after doing it and you are entirely invulnerable in the dash in and during the execution.

D: The game is just slow. Why? Because the music is slow. I dont know why they decided the music needs to be like 120bpm but yeah most of the music is 120bpm (Granted I havent actually measured every song but the first 3 are 120). Thats fine for some music of course and is standard in a lot of genres. But it doesn't exactly lead to the heart pounding “gonna rip your head off” type gameplay. It would probably be alot more fun if all the music was closer to 160 or 180. Right now it feels like I need to actively slow down my gameplay inorder to stay on beat. And I dont know about you but the music holding me back is the exact opposite of the feeling I want. I want to feel forward momentum and a push to go faster! kill more! do stuff! Not “Yeah just hang back and click at a leisurely pace”

E: The music and rhythm game aspects… They were close I think. Very very close to making it something truly special. But currently your gameplay only affects the layers of music that are being played, that's it. You build up until you eventually have vocals. This is okay? I guess. But it is probably the laziest possible way to make a reactive soundtrack. wii Tanks did it better ffs. The only time this is broken is with the sword ultimate, it goes into a breakdown and you get to chug chug at double time. That is fun, honestly the most fun part of the entire game. Just imagine if they actually applied this to the various combos, if devils flight started a trill to allow you to shoot at tripple time, or if a execution caused the music to skip a beat but make the next beat louder and you deal quad damage, or if you get a triple kill it starts a solo and you get to shoot along with it. But no, they just took the laziest way and it kinda feels that way, the music doesn't actually react to your gameplay beyond being a little more intense when you are doing well. It would be cool if it at least reacted to the enemies that are around but it doesn't even do that. There were alot of opportunities to add various interesting rhythm game aspects to it but they didn't. So it just ends up being a metronome simulator.

F: The music itself. I'm not going to claim the music is bad, it's quite good and they assembled a really talented group of musicians to make the sound track. The problem is these musicians clearly have not a single clue how to write music for a rhythm game like this. Half the songs have beats that are hard to follow in places. Most dont have any sort of heavy easy to follow beat that you would expect, and with a few songs you have quiet sections that nearly have no beat to follow. This isnt helped at all by the focus on vocals in alot of the songs. Vocals are fun for songs yes, BUT vocals are normally extremely trash at holding a beat by themself with a few exceptions. A song like “Army of the Night” by powerwolf is a great example of a metal song that has vocals that can hold a beat, you can isolate the vocals from that and easily tap along to it without needing to think about it. The songs in this game not so much, I found I would lose beat and have to actively think about the song to get back on beat. To put it simply this is no good. Some may say very no good. The point of music in a game like this is to get you pounding to the beat, it shouldn't be a struggle to stay on beat ever. The bass drum or guitar riff or something should be boosted so loud and hard that you have no choice but to follow the beat. For a game like this you want dance music for lack of a better term

So I dont think I will be finishing this game any time soon. This feels more like a proof of concept then a finished polished game

Very fun game for the first little bit. Low and medium tier ships have alot of variance and diffrent play styles that are fun and allow you to experiment and make interesting designs. Then you get into the late game and its... Ion beams. Everything and everyone uses ion beams. All other weapons are basically entierly useless. All top tier ships have enough point defense weapons to delete cannons/railguns from existence, and missiles are decent for AI to spam but they use missile parts way too fast to be practical for a player ship. All other energy weapons are redundant when a ion beam just does 20x more damage and can be placed inside the ship to make it impossible to destroy without basically destroying the entire ship. Railguns are fine but are hard countered by shields, and all top tier ships have way too many shields. Basically this leads to most top tier ships being nearly identical, just a fancy design around a big central circle where a ion beam is formed then shoved out through a billion shields and out the front.

So if you play a campaign expect to have fun for 15 hours, and then just ion beam spam, all the ion beam spam. Nothing else matters. Literally just build a big ass cube that makes a bunch of ion beams and you auto win everything. I find that extremely boring and uninteresting. If I were to balance the game id make it so ion beams either just didnt exist, or they couldnt go through shields on the same ship they are shot from. Maybe just tone down the damage alot. Or add larger longer range lasers/cannons that didnt have the horrid reload rate of railguns. Right now its just boring, you either use Ion beams or you die (Or you dedicate your entier ship to making storing and shooting 10 billion nukes).

TLDR: Ion beams are boring and extremely OP, this makes the end game boring and uninteresting. games alot of fun for like 15hours until you reach that point, after that I just cant be bothered anymore. Overall like a 7/10 game, just leaving a negative review because the game is currently 98%. I honestly dont think ill touch this again until they add more weapons to the end game or re balance how ion beams work

Arma 3 is one of those games that is pretty okay but also horrible at the same time and everyone just plays it because there is no other alternative that really does everything it does. Squad and Insurgency are the closest alternatives. Squad being closer, but squad isnt quite the same sandbox and while the workshop content is catching up it just doesnt compare to the sheer amount and ease of use/making with arma mods. Everything about this game is janky, it feels like a unpolished game from the early 2000s and thats because it basically is, while it came out in 2013 its movement, vehicles, and most gameplay elements really are identical to Operation Flashpoint from 2001. So like why are people still playing this ♥♥♥♥ in 2022? Because this game is basically Garry's mod but for people who like war stuff. Zeus and the scenario editor are the reason this game is alive, combine that with a workshop that has items from 40k to medieval knights and you get a truly unmatched military sandbox. If you want a good mil sim game go play Squad, If you want a military sandbox that can do literally anything get Arma 3. But dont be surprised at the sheer amount of glitchy jank in this. You will get stuck in everything when you want to vault over a short wall, your gonna get pushed through reality if you stand in the wrong spot when opening a door, Vehicle collisions are a joke, Melee is literally none existent, building damage/destruction is handled horribly and will probably result in someone getting stuck, commanding a squad takes having 3 hands and memorising 8 different menus, the game uses about 95% of the keyboard for hotkeys that yes you will have to memorise if you want to be decent at the game (seriously I have learned to fly multiple planes in DCS and that is easier to learn then knowing all the hot keys for every diffrent state in arma), and the AI will spot you from 6km away then proceed to immediatly do a 180 and head shot you. BUT you can play a Space marine and shoot a WW 2 tank with a plasma gun so yeah, this will never get old and Im starting to belive nothing will ever really replace it

this game is like a breath of fresh air after drowning in the pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is blade and sorcery AI. This AI actually knows how to parry attacks sometimes and it can actually do counter attacks along with various other moves that are both realistic and actually good. This is the first time I have died in a sword fighting game and actually said "Wow that was a good move" rather then "Wow that was some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥". I mean I still have a 57 k/d but sometimes it happens. If they keep developing this AI especially in their parrying and binding ability I could legitimately see this as a decent bit of additional training for someone learning HEMA or other sword based martial arts. Definitly no replacement but still a nice extra thing you can do.

Very fun and engaging gameplay, probably one of the better 3d platformers that ever came out, Fairly unique as well. Only other similar game is Valley, but this is much faster and a bigger focus on air time. Only problem is its WAY too easy. Like its laughable almost, took me 7 hours to 100% the entier game, probably more like 5 hours since I left it running afk a few times. There are only 5 difficult levels, all at the very end of the game, and all very short. Almost every level has a massive skip in it that I figured out literally the first time I played them, I think I probably skipped 95% of the game just by looking at the level for 5 seconds and then doing some swing that shoots you directly to the end gate. Though I was looking for skips while playing it, more playing it like a puzzle game then following a strict path so that might explain why. But the thing is the few levels that are actually challenging are all closed in levels that require quick reaction times and good aiming to beat. So id love more closed in levels, and honestly the 3 star time for most levels should be cut by 5 or even 10 seconds to make it slightly challenging. The wall run is also kinda pointless right now. Just feels completely un needed since basically none of the maps give you places to do it where swinging isnt faster. I think I only ever used it once on one map, and the only reason was because that map was designed to basically force you to use it. It should probably give you a bigger speed boost or something to make it actually worth while. Id also apreciate jump being changed from when you press space to when you release space, since currently it feels like when I want to wall run I press space to do it, but I just end up double jumping and missing the wall run

Great game. I heard some people call it a light rpg, and I kinda wish it was a bit more of a rpg. Units have random stat distribution and there is no way to reroll them or change what soldiers are assigned to what. So I ended up with all the marksmen on my rangers unit having literal minimum marksmanship stats and half my assault soldiers with 1-3 assault shooting stats. Id like it if you could do point buy and buy your units starting stats as well as choose what stats to increase on the soldiers when they rank up. But other then that minor annoyance its alot of fun, definetly a massive step up from door kickers 1 and pretty much a must get for anyone that likes strategy/puzzle games
