I never played the original. But from my experience with this so far, it's pretty visually appealing to me. Easy to get into. The atmosphere is great and what you'd want from a horror game. I'm not finished the story yet. But it is keeping me interested in finding answers to what is going on in the town of silent hi.

If this is your only way to play, then you may need to mod it. But its overall good and worth the trouble. Story is amazing.
