As a big fan of the first one and having gotten 100% of the achievements, this sequel feels so far feels like a half baked remake.

Pros
Music and sound design is nice, graphics are fairly pretty.

Cons
Combat (I'm playing thief so maybe that's why) feels very weightless and floaty. There doesn't feel like there's enough feedback on hits and it feels like I'm slapping the air. Enemy variety feels lacking from what I've seen. The Medusa is the only new critter in the first 4 hours I've seen. Lack of hybrid classes or throwing weapons means I'm SoL as a thief against flying enemies unless a pawn brings them down or they divebomb me. RIP assassin, Strider and Mystic Knight.

Voice acting for anyone that isn't pawns has been incredibly hit or miss. Even pawns don't have any of their iconic lines from the first game but maybe they'll grow on me.

It's nice that they got David Lodge to voice Grigori again, but he feels like he's phoning it in or bored. He doesn't have same booming voice effects from the first game and just sounds like some dude talking.

The arbitrary limit on a height of 160 which makes it impossible to create dwarves, halflings, gnomes or little people in general.

My performance in the field is fine, full 60 fps even in combat running on a 3060 Ti and an AMD Ryzen 3800X. The main city is where I suffer with variable 30 fps. Compared to a friend who has a comparably beefy setup that just barely gets 20 fps in the field. Seems weird.

Micro transactions kinda suck. Everyone's saying that you can get everything in game, but as far as I can tell, the rift shop doesn't refresh, so you're limited to two arts of metamorphosis, and then have to buy an additional one.

I'm only at the big city of Vermath or whatever, but so far it's felt like a bunch of hallways and corridors and not so much "open world". You can't really deviate too far from the roads.

I'd give it a 4/10 if I were to rate it. Might change for the better if I keep playing but so far I'm not impressed.
