I remember when this game was released into Early Access after the initial Phasmophobia hype and I wanted to buy it back then already but only ended up buying it this year after the official release and I don't regret it.

Your goal is to figure out which ghost Mejai haunts the tomb you're in.
After you did that your task is to yoink the relic out of the inner tomb which angers the Mejai and results into their manifestation. Depending on which Mejai it is, they will actively hunt you down - some of which have a keen sense of hearing, some fear the light and so on.

After you yoinked the relic you want to escape but you can't because the entry to the tomb is shut and you will need to find the right lever to open the door of the tomb.
That's it right? Figure out what kind of Mejai it is, yoink their relic, find the lever and bail.

Yes but you can go one step further and banish the Mejai which requires you to solve a puzzle and you have to bring some items to the lower level of the tomb for the banishment to work - there's a lot to do and the gameplay loop, that reminds me of Phasmophobia and Demonologist, is simple but great.

You can also collect lore pages and finish your treassure collection.
You can upgrade your gear and you even can buy pets which give you some neat passive abilities like being faster or negating the poison effect - and yes, you can pat them.

I recommend to play Forewarned with friends since there are some cool mechanics that kind of fall flat when you play alone. Also, don't worry about dying, there is always a way to come back to the world of the living even if it's with a twist.
