Gachapon/Reforging Simulator 2021/2022/2023, still a fun game nonetheless.
There is still people playing, it's just the majority tend to get strong and then just AFK for days at a time.
I definitely recommend starting in Nao because it's the most popular now (unless you like peace and quiet, but I still say that Nao is the server to choose.)

It may or may not seem overwhelming at first but just stick to the tutorial quests, definitely do the memoirs and complete the Generation Quests (main story) at your own pace.
(Avoid Divine Knights/Apocalypse until you get a footing though, stick to Advent of the Goddess and go from there.)
They have a few ways now to get pets without having to spend money (mostly doing the Dungeon Guide) and you can save up gold and buy them from other players or just check the Auction House, though they're pretty expensive if you are starting the game.

Also don't end up like me, focus on getting stronger gear and weapons before you start buying all the pretty outfits. You'll be able to get a good source of income the stronger you get and then afford pretty clothes easily. Or you could just farm life skill items, people always pay a lot for those too.
