Dota is a lot of fun, and feels like the kind of game you read about in ambitious books, where analysis of the mechanics, planning, and a little bit of exploitation will reward you.

But to be honest, I feel like it's impossible to really enjoy that factor in a team game. The nature of the game lends itself easily to constant, unavoidable conflict either from your teammates, or to them. The skill level and communication of your teammates, almost matters more than anything you could contribute yourself. It's possible to influence these circumstances, and overcome a communication disparity, but it's not intuitive or inclusive.

Despite that, I enjoy the game. I can't help it. There's a literal endorphin rush as you grow and improve, and a selection of heroes that are still fun whether you're winning or not. I just there were game modes that required less teamwork.
