Early Access Review
I would give it an "its okay", option in between the recommend/not recommend. Of how the game is atm, I do not see what part I would be recommending (I really started to notice that when I wrote this I had more negatives than positives to state my review with). I enjoy the game as I jjust gather and craft, and build together with the clan, aside from that, I dont feel like its fun enough for me to participate in. Also, the game is badly optimized (I know, EA, I dont whine about that) which makes it hard for me to join in on combat (random frame freezes, also huge framedrops when im standing still sometimes). My pc isnt the best, but other games run quite smooth, here i go from 40 frames on low graphics, to 10 at some drops (which i still cant figure out why). (pc specs; Ryzen 5 5600x, MSI b550-a pro with an older GTX 1080 and 24gb ram)

The game is EA, atm it's quite limited in type of play.
I went into this game somewhat blind. I like building and crafting, also surviving and more communication or work together games. I am quite a MMORPG player (from 2005 to now i guess?), and I hoped this game had more active mmorpg-aspects.
For now, the game does not have that.

I went with a clan from the start. And I dont think I would suggest playing this game alone. It's relaxing and time consuming enough for me when I focus on the gathering and crafting parts of the game. With the clanmates we shared resources to level up the skills, making it so that I could level carpentry without having to craft all the nails or hinges to do so.
But I do think I am reaching a point already where I will take a break and wait for a big new update.

The game doesnt have special armor until you get to a certain tier, got food that will defend you from elements and gives def buffs and probably fight them with more than 1 or 2 people. You probably can do it alone, but I find it tedious and do not enjoy the combat in the game so far at all. Fighting NPC alone aside from boars is TEDIOUS. The difficulty of the mobs, which pretty much goes : boar(easy) > wolf(one wolf? ouch but okay, pack? run) >bear (dead unless prepared with good stuff) is frustrating enough in any area. Want to follow the path? Theres 3 wolves spawned and once you got past that, theres a bear that if you just walk a little off will go after you instead (luckily they are slow but once they hit you you bet your arse you can run that path over again). Other enemies are tedious as in; they are damn fast, they can use ranged magic skill but you can not.... stuff like that.
These things need fixing. ATM I do not AT ALL play the game for its combat.

I miss a lot of furniture and decoration options, you get a few at the start (and some chairs, a table and flower pots for the window and ONE cabinet which is expensive as heck to craft and you need blacksmithing for it as well). The triangle shaped stone foundation isnt the same size as the main square foundation. The more expensive stairs are smaller than the base square shapes of flooring or foundation. There is no curve stairs, stone windows or doorframe. There is no triangular roof shape to connect more rounded walls together. The kind of plants i can place/hang all look the same, aside from.. 3 options in total of... 8?
The amount of items that stack in the game is whack as well. There are no backpacks in the game yet (i really hope they would be more class/skill oriented like an herb basket, stick box or hunting pouch, for more visual differences).
I got to the end of my Alchemy skill and for that I needed Elegant Stinkhorn only to be found in the PvP area, and I do NOT want to PvP, yet I would be kind of forced to if I wanted to gather those items.

Atm I use all my time in building as, after I have leveled alchemy, carpentry and tried some random other crafts. The building and community part is fun, but that is what you make of it yourself. The game itself is bare, I see no reason for more characters as they all "own" the same plots, and why would i specialize one character in something if i can just make my single character do everything? Characters themselves do not gain any hp, any skilltrees or any improvements. It all comes from items or food. I miss a certain progression in that. If the better armors were to give a buff in max HP/Stamina that would make surviving less tedious and more rewarding to progress in the game.

As I said I'll probably take a break once i finished my building project, and then see in time with a good update what has happened to it.
