Egg is a clicker application made in Unity. No frills, no presentation, just an egg.. Click it a million times to "win." The catch? One session - crash or restart and lose all progress. The only reason it's trending anymore is that people are hoping to get rich on one of its many worthless skins.

While this is intended to be purely informational, choosing not recommended because of the unreasonable achievement goal and that it's devolved into an attempted money making idler.

Egg is clearly intended to be a meme and not a serious experience. Since it's free, it's become the target of point farming by posting the characteristic copypastas, one liners, and baits to encourage awards. And it's not the first app to to pull a stunt like this (search the several "button" games already on Steam). Install it, get the achievement if you care to, and then uninstall. Or play 10 minutes and add your spam to the graffiti wall of reviews.

While I respect freedom to publish whatever you like on Steam, the problem is that stuff like this clutters search and even occupies space on the recommended front page widget, pushing out good games and hidden gems. But that's the price we pay for the lack of any quality control by Valve.

[Update] Since the original time of posting, egg began dropping marketable skins that have kicked off a delusional gold rush. The frequency at which it pumps out skins is so fast that virtually everything has become worthless on the market... you will not get rich wasting your CPU and electricity bill on this. The devs are trying to experiment with consumables and a delete button to get rid of skins you can't sell, but it's done nothing so far to curb the race to the bottom. If you want to read a more detailed analysis on this topic, read my review of Banana.

Achievement Hunters: One million clicks. Not practical to do by hand, unless you keep the application running indefinitely. Must be done in one session; If the app closes for any reason you lose everything. With the use of an autoclicker, will take approximately 6 hours, ideal for overnight.
