I am an IT professional by day and computer and networking hobbyist by night, versed in modern and legacy systems. I also enjoy vintage computing, especially Z80-based systems or the like running any variant of CP/M.

I am a fan of classic rock and pop from the 60s, 70s and 80s, such as Jimi Hendrix, the Eagles, Boston, Journey, Rush, Styx, Led Zeppelin, the Steve Miller Band, the Beatles to name just a few. By and large, newer music (after 1989) does not impress me much. I love anime. I also love classic animation (from 1930s to late 1950s and some 1960s).

Also, I have a bit of a thing for cute things.


I have several computers I connect to Steam all the time. Bear in mind that I may not get to your message if the computer I am at is down for maintenance and another's online and I am not actually at it. Truthfully, I rarely set this manually, but if any of them require my personal intervention, it is for the following reasons:

-Online -- I am USUALLY available, but since I leave Steam on all the time, I make no promises.

-Away -- I likely will not respond until I am actually at my computer. Assuming I remember to unset away, that is. In any event, please feel free to leave me a message.

-Busy -- I may or may not respond.

-In-Game or -Mod -- My response times will be slower, but I try to respond as time avails itself.

-In-App -- I am more than likely available. Depending on the work I am doing in-app, my response time might be slower, but it should usually be quick.

-Snooze -- I am usually away or asleep. If it is during the day California time, I'm away.

-Looking to play -- Another one I very rarely use -- Self-explanatory?

-Looking to trade -- I never use this one. See further down this infoblock for details.

-Offline -- Most of the time, I am working on one or more of my computers or they are not connected to a network. Or there is a local network outage or power failure, or even both. Please note that I am rarely ever in this state.

In all states other than in-game or -mod, feel free to leave a message. If I am in a game, please be judicious about messaging me. However, if it is an APPLICATION, feel free to message me.

If I am on with a mobile device, I welcome messages! This is regardless of my main state, which includes in-game.

This machine has as much memory as it does because I also do virtualization (v12n) on it, mainly for prototyping and testing prospective server installs. I also run a virtualized Windows setup so I can keep more sensitive work data from being compromised by goings-on on the host system, and also to allow me to work without having to log out of my main personal account. I run another Windows setup to verify questionable downloads. I mainly run VirtualBox, but I also have VMware Player and Hyper-V installed. I disable the latter one at bootup (why must it capture VT-x/AMD-V for its exclusive use at bootup??? WHY?!?!?!) because I tend to use the former two far more, with VirtualBox by far receiving the most use and booting with Hyper-V prevents the other two from being used.

Just an average gaming rig, nothing hugely fancy. Plays most of my games just fine.

I also have a Logitech F310 controller that goes between both of these desktops as well as my laptop, an Acer E15. Will likely go with an F710 for the secondary as it is a "living room PC".

Trading : I only trade with close friends or those I feel I can completely trust.

This is more for those who want to add me as a friend and want to see my level for vetting purposes. (I know some of you discriminate based on level given the prevalence of scamming bots.)

Information mining : If you are a backpack scraping site and I ask you to clear your cache, I would appreciate if you immediately complied with my wishes. My information is private for a reason. I do not want just any site on the Internet to have this information, even and especially if I never have visited it or never plan to.


Interaction rules

If you are adding me so you can help pad out your group's population, I would just as soon not. I don't like spamming my friends with anything, much less invitations.

If you want to modify or work any of my Workshop items into what you're working on, please ask me nicely. I may just say yes or even offer help!

Streaming and e-sports
I do not watch streams. Please tell me if you are streaming your game so I can have a chance to leave your game.

Short story: If I play with you, don't stream me. If you stream, I won't play with you.

Along the same vein, I'm not into e-sports. I play for fun, not competition. As such, I have no desire to play competitively. I tried it once with TF2; I never got past scrimmages. They mess up friendships.
