Maneater is one of my favorite AA titles in the past few years, and this is the second time I am playing it, since it was a timed epic exclusive when it originally released in 2020, and honestly it was worth the second playthrough.

The Story
Maneater is a 'Shark RPG' where you play a shark who is on a quest for revenge against the fisherman who killed her mother.

The Gamplay
The gameplay is very reminiscent of the old game Feeding Frenzy. You start out as a little guppy shark, then lvl yourself up by eating a combination of humans, sea turtles, alligators, small fish, and even other sharks, till you have grown into a full size mega. The controls of the shark can be frustrating at times, but overall it makes you feel like a true Apex Predator. Throughout the game you can get evolution upgrades that gives your shark special properties that help you take down vicious underwater creatures, and a lot of humans.

Graphics
The graphics a gorgeous. It has a combination of realism and cartoonish charm too it. You can really see how much care went into creating this great underwater world.

The Open World
The open world is a decent size, but not so bit that it feels empty. They managed to really jam a lot of cool secrets, and locations for you to find, without it being overwhelming.

DLC
And as of writing this review, I have completed the new DLC, Truth Quest. This adds a bunch of new enemies as well as a new location and story for you to explore. It feels like it doubled the content that was in the base game, by adding some really cool new additions.

Length
The game length, depending if you rush through, or are replaying it after getting it from Epic like I did, will clock you in at between 20-30hrs, which for the price is pretty decent.

If you want a action packed, fun, and arcade game to play, I highly recommend you pick up Maneater + The Truth Quest DLC. 10/10
