A streamlined and easy to understand interface makes finding what you want a breeze, and a variety of tools to allow wrapping, animation, and layering means you'll always have what you need to finish a piece. Aseprite is very helpful when it comes to exporting finished sprites or full on sheets as well, and it even comes with its own type of file, .ase. I cannot recommend Aseprite highly enough.
